Stepmania Requests Sound Driver. Override?

I have an old laptop i want to put stepmania on and it keeps crashing asking for a sound driver. I've scouted the FAQs on stepmania.com. Does anyone know of a way to override that? I dont need to hear the music and I dont know what card is in there so i cant get drivers for it.

Have you tried forcing the computer to believe there is a sound card. In windows you should be able to add new hardware even though it isn't physically there.
