How do you select your songs?

Is it based on the artist, song type, groove radar value, or difficulty rating (1-10 foot)?

Is it also possible you just like the PARANOiA or TRIP MACHINE series?

I, myself like the PARANOiA series, some NAOKI songs, somethin catchy (like Do You Remember Me, Dam Dariram, or Bag), lots of stream or chaos (So Deep...).

I've been playing for about 5 months.
2 months: Light/Beginner
1 month: Standard

I pick songs that I am good at, or songs that I suck at. thats why songs in the middle, such as sweet sweet love magic dont get played much by me.

I seriously thought this was going to be a really dumb question and no depth to it whatsoever. I was going to say with the arrows and the select button.

I usually just pick stuff I know pretty well or like the sound of.

I just started playing recently, so I don't know most of the songs yet. That means that I generally just pick Random, unless i'm playing with someone who wants to pick a song, in which case it makes no difference to me.

Arcade: I'll usually pick an 8-9 footer for my first two stages, and something like 6-8 for my final stage, so I can get Extra Stage. But if the machine has anything good on it, I'll definitely have to play that.

Home: I can name three songs on Max2 that I can stand: Dream A Dream, AM-3P, and Afronova. I'm not going to keep playing those. So I'll either do Roulette or a 9 footer.

Stepmania: Random, each time. By the way, does anyone know how to prevent a song from being chosen randomly? Because I'm sick of PIU songs popping up for Random choices, as well as Extra Stage.

Usually, I go with whatever I happen to feel like playing, but if I've been challenged to improve on a certain song(s), I'll lean towards playing that song(s) more often. And random Extra Stage, every time.

dark/ninja songs like tsugaru, matsuri, b4u, breakdown, freckles, and HV:AM and exotic. Ill try monst any song but those are the ones i like playing.

I usually go for the harder songs. I play 9 footers most often with the occasional 10 footer. If I'm bored, I will play some 8 foot songs. If I;m super tired, I'll play a 7 foot song.

It depends. If I have people watching me, I do songs that "look" good, like the beginning of AM-P3 with it's spin, AFRONOVA with it"s awesome sideways weird stream thingy (plus I do a spin for the 2nd run), or Spin the Disc with all the turns...

If I have a big crowd, then I'll do easy 9 footers on doubles or hard songs with lots of twists on singles, like exotic ethnic, Sync Oni, or Rythm and Police...

If I'm PA matching, I go for songs with lots of steps that I can do well, like Dead End, Synchronized Love, or Do You Remember Me...

If I'm just playing for kicks, I just work on songs that I can do without much trouble, but need to work on for PA.

Everything I pick is usually 8 feet and above and I play the songs I think have fun routines. It's not an exact science or anything, just what I think is fun.

I play whatever I feel like. Most of the time, I'm playing someone I don't know, and I like to be a pain in the a** and do nonstop 9s (HVAM, Drop Out, Cartoon Heroes, So Deep, etc) and wear them out before asking, "Is Max 300 cool with you?" Normally, it depends on what kind of music I wanna hear or groove to. Heck, if I want, I'll pick Heaven is a 57 or something.

I just go whatever sounds good to me or it depends on my physical condition. Sometimes i play Drop the Bomb on my final for my first game, sometimes i play Max300 as my final on my first game. Also depends on my current mood
