how do i edit and/or view 3d characters from sm?

hi, i was planning on doing some graphic editing and i really wanted the 3d images of the characters from ddr... and i know a small amount with 3dsmax6, but i was hoping it wouldn't be that complex... not to mention the files still arent in a format it could read.

so i wanteed to know how you can view the characters from stepmania, and/or edit or even create them? is thier a program? or a format?, if thiers a format has anyone created an application which can atleast view the characters in still form.

thiers got to be soemthing out there!... otherwise how were the characters created!?1

I have the same question. I'm bumping this post to help its chances of being answered. Would a question like this go in the "Simulater File Creation Help" thread? Because that's where I posted a question like this. Just wondering.
