I don't know about alot of cameras but I have a Kodak Easyshare CX7430 camera. It has a video feature with sound. With a 128MB card it can take almost 13 minutes of video. I've not tried it on DDR yet but I'm sure it would work fine. The camera is $180. _________________

Unless you have an absurdly high budget, I'd think twice about purchasing a camera just for DDR.

i just use my regular digital camera which cost me about $110, and records 3 minute videos. and i bought a bigger memory card (512 MB) for about $40, so that i can hold more videos/pictures. _________________

Or you could use a cheap digital tape recording video camera and record like an hour instead of like 10 minutes. It works fine for me. |

One thing to keep in mind is that the frame rate you get when using the "movie" function of the digital camera is usually pretty poor. You really want to get an actual camcorder if you want decent quality. |

Any camcorder less than $500 is going to be about the same quality, so just buy the cheapest one you can find. It should be sufficient to film some dances. The picture will get grainy if it's in a dark location, like the back corner of a dimly lit arcade or whatnot, but there's nothing you can do about that unless you start to spend over $1000. So get a cheap camera, and try to film in a well-lit location. |
