Help with StepMania and a "missing DLL"

When i attempt to start StepMania 3.9rc3 it says that the application has failed to start because MSVCP71.dll was not found. I have tried re-installing but that hasnot worked. This is the first time this has ever popped up. I have used StepMania on this same computer and it worked just fine. But now since i updated to XP Service Pack 2 it dosnt seem to work anymore. Any suggestions on what to do?

There is your problem right there. Service Pack 2 sucks. I have so many friends who installed it and afterwards their games didnt run right. so they all uninstalled SP2. some even ended up having to reformat and reinstall windows. if the .dll is a part of windows, there are lots of places online you can download windows .dll's just ask google, so you maybe able to fix it like that. if the .dll is for stepmaina then uninstalling and reinstalling would fix the problem, but like you said you already tried that.

looks like you copy the file to C:\WINDOWS\system its all in the readme

good luck with that. and I'd say if your gonna use SP2 install it before you install your games.
