We want a PSP DDR!!! Shout out to Konami!!!

With the recent release of the PSP I have come to realize that a portable version of DDR or ITG is a very likely possibilty. A 60 - 80 song list wouldn't be too hard for Konami to pull off.

Some ideas for this would be:

2 player support (doubles)
1 player w/ option to have arrows scroll the PSP longways
WiFi compatibility
Use the USB port to use a finger pad

I think we should get a poll going (names and email addresses) together and submit it to Konami showing how much support a portable DDR version would get.

So I'll start and hopefully this'll pick up some steam

i think that ddr should just stick to consoles that can have a full size pad, and if you want afull size pad for the psp, why didnt you spend less money for a regular ps2...

a ddr for psp i think would be a waste.

You can play DDR with the xbox controller in Ultramix 1 & 2. You can even go online and play with a control vs someone playing on a mat in XBOX live.

However.

People who play using the controller are being very lame. My husband really wanted to unlock some song... I forget which... so he played with the controller until he AAA'd some song. The score promptly overrode my high score while playing with the pad, which pissed me off.... I had to go erase THAT score, then replay with my pad trying to reclaim my AA.

I don't think playing with your hands is fair. It's just not the same level of difficulty as moving your fat butt around the dance pad and not tripping.

Japan had DDR for the GBC. 3 versions, actually.
I'd rather have some other BEMANI on the PSP, like Beatmania or Pop'N.

Doubles would not work if the d-pad is anything like a regular Sony PS2 dpad. Ever tried hitting UD or LR on it at the same time? You can't because of how it's setup.

And 60-80 songs? For a PSP game that seems like a little much for a portable, especially for the first incarnation of it.

hmmm....sounds like a waste of time, money, space, memory....honestly though what would be the point? Hooking up a pad to your PSP and squnting to see the screen? Killing the buttons on your PSP when you play (like I did to my keyboard) Nah lets leave the portable gaming to its own devices as PSP takes over the world one mind at a time.
