can you play imported ddr on the new slim ps2?

i heard that you can play japanese versions of ddr on that slim ps2 that came out a couple months ago is it true ?Because i wanted to buy a japanese ps2 to play japanese ddr games.Then i heard from some one that you can play japanese version of games on the slim ps2.please let me know.

you can, but you have to still use swap magic or have a mod chip, if you're gonna use swap magic, you need to get something called a ghost button, which disables the auto-reset sensor when you open it from the top
