DDR machine, 4th mix so......wont load on startup

Hey, we have a Dance Dance Revolution 4th mix solo machine and we start it up and it goes through all the checks and when it does the hard drive test (I think its the hard drive one) it says the "27j" is bad and comes up with a error message. Unforutantly the error message is all in japanese but I can see it says cd rom in thier. So any ideas what to do? If that made any sense at all.
