Hey I was thinking of building an actual stage, slipping the pods under it, making holes for the lasers to come up from it, and putting some clear hard plastic over the holes so they can't be stepped on. This would result in an infa-red stage to play PPP on, sorta like the arcade. Whadda ya say? Will the pastic allow the beams to go through uninterrupted?

I've only seen the PPP devices online but I think the plastic might reflect the sensor beams and keep them from working. All you need to do is buy some plastic and try it yourself before you build a stage. You could even try using the clear part of a CD jewel case and see if it bothers the sensors.

If plastic won't be workable, I'd suggest you make a stage with cylinders the right size and placement for the pods to fit in, and just drop them in (you'd need holes or slots to get the wires through I believe, or make them quarter-inch higher than the bottom of the stage; then you could just lift the stage if it's not too heavy and place them underneath). Make sure the cylinders are maybe an inch taller than the pods are, and they'll be pretty hard to step on. I don't know where you'd get the cylinders but maybe something at Home Depot would work (do they make PVC pipe thick enough?), or if you're doing it on the cheap, cardboard tubing and duck tape. If you can't find a workable tube thing you could make open-topped boxes for the pods and get about the same effect.
