How's it going? This is my first post here. so before I ask for help I'd like to give a friendly greeting to my fellow DDR enthusiasts. E1.gif

I've been dancing on Ignition-style pads for almost a year now, and after wearing out my fourth pad am considering investing in a doubles set of CFs. Before making the investment, my cousin was kind enough to let me borrow his CF for a test drive.

Now I've always played in socks, and unfortunately, I was sliding all over the place on the CF. Less traction makes it harder to push off - almost like a skiing or speed skating motion - so it slowed down my movement and was quite frustrating.

I can't do shoes - they're too noisy, heavy, and I'm so used to feeling the pad underneath my feet that it was awkward to have no sensation.

Fortunately, I found an improvement - dress socks ?! Instead of my usual white padded cotton deals, I used a nice pair of dark, thin, slightly-textured socks and found my experience was much better.

So I'd like to know, anyone have similar feelings on this subject? Is there a specific style or material of sock that has more traction? What do you use?

Thanks!

Try finding some shoe-style slippers or shoes you'd wear at a beach (the kind that you can go into the water with). They have a rubber grip on the bottom, slip on very easily, and are very light.
