Hey, im looking for an emulator/rom for the arcade DDR versions, if there are any, i have a modded xbox that could run emulators and roms.

i do realize there is stepmania, but im not sure how to install it onto Evox, and i can barly find any songs for it...

if someone can help me out with this...

diekatze88 is right, DDR is not MAMEd, but there are some dance games which are MAMEd but they run very slow like 30fps or slower so that sucks.

Man..i wish ddr was mamed, maybe in the future something will come up though, you'll never know, all i have now are these classic games, like 1600 of them.

Read the manual that comes with Stepmania.
As for installing it into evox, look in evox.ini. or get a better dashboard.

Download StepmaniaX from xbins.
Extract.
Put songs in "Songs" folder.
FTP to Xbox in a folder that EvoX will load off of.
Run SMX off of EvoX. It'll take a little while to load if you have a lot of songs.

Installing SMX is just like installing any other game/app on your Xbox. If you need songs, check here. I think you'll need Stepmania for PC to extract those. But, the PC version is much, much better anyway.

OK... I have SMX and would advise if you have xbox ddr pads to get an XBOX -> USB adapter... if you dont want to buy one just take an and old USB divice(I used an old mouse) per pad, cut off the connector on the pad and device (the one that goes into the xbox and the one that goes into your pc) and basically reverse them. Solder the USB plug onto the end of the xbox wire. Just match the wire colors and solder E1.gif. its that easy... if you need help with this go to xbox-scene.com and check out their tutorials, as you have undoubtably already done, and look under hardware modification. once you have this done get the driver from lik-sang.com. i advise using the XBCD driver.


now d/l the PC versioin of SM and away you go!!


EDIT:
OOOOOR... you could always go with the xbox version (hard to get themes to work long load at first, lags).
to install this you do the following:
1)d/l SMX, extract, FTP to XBOX.
2)d/l and FTP songs into the /songs/ dir.
3)no the hard part... editing evox.ini...

open evox.ini in notepad, and edit this:

to this

PS remember, the <whatever is here> thing dosent go there! i would advise putting the Item line at the top if you do not know how to edit evox.ini very well...

EvoX automaticly notices things in the "games" and "apps" dirs. None of that coding is actually needed as long as you have a newer version of EvoX.

On some Xbox'es the StepMania CVS version is better as the orignal StepManiaX from Xport.. BTW Its my version E10.gif

DDR America is down.

But, yes. #ddruk.serv is all you need for official simfiles, and you can get plenty of other originals there as well.
