Usually I don't do stuff like this, but it's starting to piss me off. We just got a new computer about two months ago. I installed Stepmania in hopes to be able to play it without glitches. I start playing the song and about halfway through it restarts my computer. I have no clue why, and I thought maybe somebody could help out just a bit. It doesn't give any kind of error beforehand it just turns off and turns back on. Thanks in advance.

Well, you might be able to narrow down the problem if you can see the actual error that crashes your computer. If you're using Windows XP you can go into Control Panel>Performance and Maintenance>System and click the advanced tab. Look for "Startup and Recovery" and Click "Settings". Uncheck the box that says "Automatically Restart". If all goes well you should see a blue screen of death when your comp crashes. Try writing down any errors it gives you and googling them. You're likely to find some answers. If your comp still shuts off but you don't get a blue screen your processor might be over heating. Some motherboards have the option to shut off the computer if the processor gets too hot. There are some programs you can download to check the temperature of your processor. I personally use SpeedFan.

Hope my rambling post helps you out... lol

Yeah if you have an Intel processor and the computer gets a temprature as high as 75 degrees centigrade, the computer will automatically shut down.

Sounds like infinite loop error to me. I had that problem when using one of my emulators. It's usually caused by conflicting components. (Usually motherboard and GFX card). Try installing the latest GFX drivers for your card and maybe change the AGP/PCI/PCI Xpress speed in the BIOS. If that doesn't work, then its probally the processor overheating but I won't bother going into that since I would just be reiterating whats already been said.

That problem is a real pain and I hope you can sort it out!
