I saw this game in pictures and it has me completely stumped. Has anyone heard of this, or is there any more information on it?

VxJasonxV has a couple videos of him playing on a Steppin' 3 while we were in Aurora for a tournament a while back.
I didn't try it but it had some interesting songs on it: Ghostbusters, Night of Fire, Britney Spears stuff, My Sharona and other stuff like that. _________________

That's awesome because I will be heading up to Castle Rock this June and may just take a little detour down there. _________________

Whoa, Stepping 3, haven't seen that one in a while. o_O I've never played it myself, but I have gathered bits of info about it here and there. Stepping 3, known in previous versions as Stepping Selection, is, as you might have guessed, a DDR knockoff. It was made by Jaleco sometime in 2000 or 2001, can't remember exactly. Anyway, it has 6 circular panels, colored red, blue, and yellow and arranged in a hexagon sort of shape. In terms of gameplay, it's pretty much the same as DDR, except instead of having 4 arrows to follow, you have feet. Red, blue, and yellow feet scroll up the screen towards 2 static feet at the top, and you have to step on the corresponding color for the respective foot, ie. left-blue, right-yellow, right-red, right-red, left-and-right-blue.
What made it different from DDR was there was, to my knowledge, no music produced in house for the game. It was all licensed music, and really popular stuff at the time, too, like Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears. The original versions, too, not like the mixture of remixes and originals found in DDR. It also featured the music videos for the songs, which were displayed separately in the arcade on the multiple monitors. However, I've heard that gameplay-wise, it's rather easy and doesn't do much to keep challenging you. It reached some degree of popularity as a PS2 version was released in Japan, but it looks like it died shortly after that. |

zOMG Yash. :O
There's a PS2 version of the series. I think it's called Stepping Selection or something. I haven't played it, but I remember seeing it for like $20 on Japanvideogames a while back. Good luck finding a mat.
