Okay, in the game Capcom Fighting Evolution in one of the stages, the background music is "Put your faith in me". The weird thing is, they dont say "Put your faith in me" anywhere in that version, and the track is a sort of Techno Hip-Hop track and it is the lyrics for the Raping. Anyone else notice this?

Are you sure it's the exact same thing? It might sound similar, but I doubt a song would cross over from a Konami game to a Capcom game. However, the rapping from Put Your Faith in Me does show up elsewhere. Specifically, in Pinky's song in Bust A Move/Groove. It's longer in DDR, and it's only the same for the first 4 lines. In BAM/G, it's

"Causing much mayhem, droppin' drama.
Radical rebel with a need to bomber.
Fake MCs dare not hang 'em higher,
The mic is mine time to pay the piper.

Kick this up, so not gonna assume
I'm slick, gotta mic to prove.
Have ya asses movin 'fore my startin' time."

In PYFIM, it's

"Causing much mayhem, droppin' drama
Radical rebel with the need to bomb ya
Fake MCs and I'll hang them higher
The mic is my time, to pay the piper

Crime is blind going off, as I kick them
You and the beat, portrayed as the victim
Maniac, as the cuts, denounces
Supreme, with the war and challenges
Graceful..."

I fail to see what you're saying here. Is it because this is a topic that's been discussed a zillion times over? Is it because I went into too much detail? And why did you feel the need to say that at all?

Yeah, I'm sure there's a biiiiig difference there goog.gif

the hard and fast rule is: if its the same tune, its the same song

there's some exceptions of course; when its only sampled or something...

also, 50 cent's Candy Shop is The Magic Stick

amirite? biggrin.gif

and you know, I woulda put five bucks on this thread being about the background video and how they misspelled "jewelry box"

So is the problem is that I look like I'm obsessively overanalyzing with those two lines? That's not what I meant if it is. The difference I was referring to was the second "verse" of sorts of the rap. Meaning this:

Quote:
Kick this up, so not gonna assume
I'm slick, gotta mic to prove.
Have ya asses movin 'fore my startin' time.

vs. this:

Quote:

Crime is blind going off, as I kick them
You and the beat, portrayed as the victim
Maniac, as the cuts, denounces
Supreme, with the war and challenges
Graceful..."

Truth be told, I didn't even notice the "bomber/bomb ya" part. And noticing that now, I wouldn't even call that a difference. More than anything the people who transcribed the lyrics probably just heard it differently. I guess the point still remains that it's, in all likelhood, the same song/rap/clip from a royalty-free library. It's just spliced together differently.

EDIT 2: Thanx!

The name needs to be inside quotation marks. Like:

Code:
[quote="terence"]BLAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH[/quote]

maybe its more of making a mountain out of a molehill- instead of saying "yeah its probably the same tune" its getting out the CSI junior detective kit; I can't speak for the other guy, personally I just thought it was funny to go to lyric comparisons, maybe a little overkill E13.gif

disgust.gif more likely the same tune with different words from the same artist; or redone with permission from whoever owns the rights on the music- Toshibi-Emi or whoever?

i can't imagine anything like that being "royalty-free", these are commercial games from japan we're talking about, right? not some first year college student open source look-alike.

anyway as I mentioned before- all you can really infer from the information given is that its the "same tune" which you can then say is the "same song" only with different lyrics. Anything beyond that without more solid information is speculation- pretty wild speculation i'd say.

Nah, tonight there were more four letter words than that. Seniority Speedy Mix 25 Greats AA, first song after my warmup. (Burning ankles!) biggrin.gif

jerk.

Just because they don't say that one line, doesn't mean it's a totally different song. And the part that annoyed me the wasn't even the fact that you said that, it was the stupid "hi my name is brain" comment.

Eh, works for me. I dunno why I went so much into it myself in the first place. Just boredom, I guess. And I looking back on my posts, they all sound really dumb. disgust.gif Now I think it's time this topic should die, probably get locked, too, just so someone doesn't bring it up again 3 months from now.
