I'm having this problem with my current stepmania that hasn't happened with any of the other versions I've had. After it finishes loading the songs when starting up, it goes to the full-screen as always, however it freezes at a black screen with my cursor on it. Anyone know how to fix this at all? I think the last one I had was Stepmania 3.9 alpha 22 or one of the others in the 20's, I can't remember. Anyway, help would be much appreciated. If it means anything, I'm using Windows ME. |

Well, there's your problem right there....
No, I'm serious....I've heard a lot of people reporting issues between the newer SMs and WinME.... _________________

This is a thread about problems with rc2a, right?, so I hope you don't mind my posting about a different problem I'm having with it.
So, I'm having a bit of a "random skip" problem. What I mean is, during gameplay, my computer likes to make Stepmania "skip" a little completely at random sometimes. I had that problem with alpha 24, but it wasn't a real problem then. It might skip by a split second and cause me to get a Good instead of a Perfect or throw me off for a few beats or something. No big deal. But, the other night, I upgraded to rc2, and I swear it has to be skipping at least one beat ahead when it does that now. The response when it's not skipping seems to have gone downhill a bit as well, making me miss stuff that I've pressed once in awhile. Is there some way I can fix this, or should I just "downgrade" back to alpha 24? I'm at work right now, so I can't exactly go look up the specs on that particular computer, but I can say from memory that I'm running Windows 98 with, I believe, 196 or so mb ram. _________________
