My definite favorite arcade mix is 5th Mix. But if you mean modern mixes, my favorite would go to Extreme. Extreme has a good selection of content from previous mixes, and the new songs aren't bad either.

I really don't like the interface on 4th and before. 5th would probably be my one of choice if I could play one right now; although playing some of those 3rd korean songs would be a lot of fun.

SuperNOVA2
DDRMAX2
5thMix
4thMix+
Solo2K

and I'm sure X will hit the top of that list once it is released.

I wouldn't consider EXTREME to be a "modern" mix, given that it is nearly 6 years old.

By modern, I meant after 5th Mix. But yeah, Extreme is pretty old.

SuperNOVA because:
-Each song gets it's own high score
-By taking a load of past console songs Konami really made for a new generation of arcade DDR's
-And it was the first game to use dancing characters on stages which I (unlike most people) really like.

Sorry, no. 1st mix was the first to feature dancing characters on stages, they just axed it for MAX through EXTREME. They just brought it back for SN.

As for me, I kind of like 5th Mix. Long Versions are great, and the chance to play as Naoki and NMR are FULL OF EPIC WIN.

Buuuuuuut no it didn't. 1-5 had random floaty dancers in space. SuperNOVA was the first game to put ground beneath the dancers' feet. Also, this thread needs more 7th mix.

I liked the wacky backgrounds better than dancing stages, but both of them get annoying when they make it hard to read the arrows, which happens way more often than it should. I wish you could just turn them off.

If I had to pick one mix to play I'd probably say Extreme as a.) I'm getting kind of bored of SuperNova and b.) I didn't play Extreme to death back when it was new.

ya thats what I meant, I really didn't like the way they just floated around in the older games. When I said "on stages", I meant "ground beneath there feet".

Extreme, by far. Supernova has a lot more songs, but a few of my favorite ones are absent, and I can't stand the graphical theme for it.

So yeah, Extreme is my favorite.

Well, I do not know if this belongs in the arcade forum, but my favorite Dance Dance Revolution arcade mix is EXTREME (that, SuperNOVA, and SuperNOVA 2 are the only Dance Dance Revolution arcades I have tried so far because the first time I tried a Dance Dance Revolution arcade was 92 days ago and that location -- which happens to be the closest one to my house to my knowledge -- is 47+ miles from my house). I have tried a couple Pump It Up machines, but I did not like them as much as Dance Dance Revolution or In The Groove, the latter of which is probably my favorite (so In The Groove 2 would probably be my favorite arcade mix if it counts). In addition to the six machines mentioned (I think the Pump It Up machines I have tried are Exceed and New Xenesis 2 or something like that), I have also tried In The Groove. While I am at it, I might as well mention that the only other music game arcade I have tried is Percussion Master, which I might actually like better than Pump It Up, oddly enough (it is a pretty cool game, so I recommend trying it if anyone happens to stop by GattiTown in Lexington, Kentucky or any other location that has it E13.gif ).

Extreme. I'm really not a fan of the Supernova series, and Extreme has 95% of everything worth mentioning from every mix prior, and then some (some of which SN has left out).

The way I explain it to people is:

If I had $5 (5 games) on a Supernova cabinet, I'd have a hard time finding a song I want to play by my 5th game. I'd make it happen, but it wouldn't feel entirely fulfilling. However, if I had $5 to spend on Extreme, I wouldn't be able to decide which songs to play my last game, and which ones to not play. I'd need more like $15 before I'd run out of things worth playing. I spent $8 the other day on an Extreme cabinet, and I'm looking to go back and play more when I can.

I actually feel the exact opposite, and it actually happened to me. I had been playing SuperNOVA for about a year and the first time I got a chance to play EXTREME again I got bored on like my second round, so I went right back to SuperNOVA. That's me though, everyone has their preferences.

I respect your opinion, but you still aren't bored with Supernova after a year?
