I don't know if you guys and gals are aware of this, but in YouTube there is an user named "phantom7373tr", and is playing the mission mode with each character, and it has to be for one particular reason, and that may be the secret folder on "information", which may (or may not) be linked to the DisneyMix songs on the disc masterlist.
Keep an eye on the "phantom" because he may be on the trail on how to get access on the secret folder. |

Er...you shouldn't be expecting those Disney songs on X .
They are likely planning another Disney Mix...this time containing more 'classic' Disney songs, rather than the modern ones in DCE. _________________

lol That was good.
Anyway, I guess I'm in for both X & HP2 when I find a sale. Makes me sad that I'm just not that excited about DDR releases anymore though. I think it's only because I found Super Nova 1 & 2 tedious and not worth the effort, as the songs I kept unlocking were dull. I'll probably get bashed for saying this, but I want another Mario Mix...at least those songs were all danceable with good melodies. |
IMO DDR X definitely isn't the let-down that SN US and SN2 US were. SuperNOVA US was the only PS2 DDR that I sold back to GameStop, the rest I still have or eBay'd (except MAX2 heh), I still have SN2 but I didn't pick it up until this summer (a LONG time after it came out) since I really didn't care much for anything on it, and still don't.
DDR X's new songs are refreshing and I love the techno/dance/trance theme that's in this game. Some really good electronic tracks, which makes me wonder...Hmm, where's that V-Rare? _________________

You'll never know if you don't try, and the "phantom" may be up to something. |

mequetrefe413, you do realize that none of those songs are actually on the disc, as in there is absolutely NO audio data. They only exist as a part of a string of text known as the "Master List" that simply names all songs currently in or to be included in future DDR releases. _________________

Hey, I said IMO! Well we'll see with time, it may still be the "OMG, NEW DDR! I LOVE IT!!11!!" excitement still rushing through me. We'll see how everyone feels about X in a couple weeks. Damn, with no online mode (albeit a hardly used one) that only further cuts down the replay value _________________

Well, your opinion is short-sighted:
-Blandest * Master Mode yet. The only variety is 3 different noteskins and one series of episodes that make you play worse than you had to.
-Little course variety.
-Official Courses do not go beyond 5 songs.
-No new SIGNIFICANT modifiers. What the goddamn hell is Wave?
-Announcer has the worst lines.
-Announcer sometimes has lengthy lines mid-game.
-Joke Challenge charts.
-Can't put Shock Arrows into Edit Data.
-Shock Arrows rarely go beyond 4th beats.
-Charts with Shock Arrows have a useless background movie that's completely unfitting.
-NO ARCADE EDITS AGAIN. FOR THE THIRD TIME.
-Unusual inconsistencies. There's a typo in one of the Information Mode entries. Street Episodes that require more than one song towards completion don't "Continue", they make you "Retry", which is off-putting at first.
+Nobody really misses online mode.
Whoever planned this game out and whoever ISN'T talking to the arcade developers need to be fired. Now. Same goes for anyone who had anything to do with features and such with the last two games that are still around. You are lazy, oblivious, and ruining the PS2 games.
DDR X is an incomplete product. Had this been worth $40, it would have been the first DDR game I've sold off immediately after unlocking everything. The only thing saving this game is the songlist and the quality stepcharts.
What's happening now is a repeat of last year: the Wii and 360 DDR games are leagues beyond the PS2 game. And HP1 didn't even have all that much to begin with against SN2.
The bar was set at EXTREME 2 and the devs aren't even attempting to considering running towards it, let alone getting the mental synapses to consider it. _________________

but isn't that really all that matters? It's a dance game, I don't understand why people have to overanalyze every thing about it. I'm really enjoying it! a bunch of good songs, and there's still edit mode so I can make my own steps, so I'm happy! _________________

It's not really as bad of a game that everyone makes it out to be. As Reenee said, it has good songs and good charts (Yes, many of them are even better than EXTREME-era charts *gasp*). That SHOULD be all that matters, but we all know that DDR players have to have SOMETHING to complain about.
It's not the best PS2 DDR, nor the worst. It's fun, and that's all I really care about!
P.S. HP2 is not really all that great as I thought it was going to be, however. Many of the Bemani artists like Yoshitaka and Osamu were paired with AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL vocalists. I mean, at least when they use vocalists that sing Engrish, they SOUND good. The Lonely Streets and We Can Win the Fight are two of the biggest disappoints song-wise DDR has ever had.
Not that there aren't good songs in HP2. Into Your Heart and Closer to Your Heart are classic "Naoki Feat." songs with a twist. Super Hero is a cool speed pop song, who could hate the V5 transplant (Even though the video should be FULL SCREEN, thank you!) Escape is WORLDS beyond the stuff that he made in U1. Tomosuke got lucky and got a decent vocalist for Dreamin'. And of course, who could forget the new jun happy-hardcore song Silver Dream? Osaka Evolved sounds like a relative to Pluto (Although I don't think Osaka is a proper name). _________________

I found the announcer amusing. He just gets annoying after saying the same thing for the 12904832751028509385th time. I haven't finished SMM yet but what a wonderful world they live in, where everyone just wants to dance.
I had really low expectations for this game, and it actually impressed me. Songlist and charts have been good (so far). |

THE GOOD:
"Hot track comin thru...beep beep hot track hot track"(lol)
THE BAD:
"We're dancin were groovin were moovin to tha groovin" (something like that)
THE JUST PLAIN OLD UGLY:
"Your dancin made the world a better place!!!!!" (come on......seriously....) |

It is in Party Zone. It is better because it can have up to 8 people, but you can't chat or practice songs before people enter your room. |

SO. LAUGHABLY. WRONG.
Sorry, but the bar for songs, at least, was set at EXTREME 1. For interface, it was set before that: at MAX 1. Extreme 2 was the only one to combine the two into one mix, therefore only reaching the bar.
As for your overly critical* DDRX comments:
Course Variety: It's called ORDER NUMBERS. Try 'em out sometime.
Official Courses: So? Order numbers, again.
Mods: Aggrement here. Where the goddamn hell is Wave? It wasn't even in the game at all!!!
Announcer: PEACE OUT.
Challenge: At least there are other songs with challenge charts, even if they are jokes.
Shock Arrows: Who the hell cares??? You couldn't put mines into edit datas in ITG, mainly because there wasn't an Edit mode in there, but Shock Arrows in Edit Mode would've screwed the whole game up. Sorry, but can't agree with you here. Were you trying to make the game spell out I SUCK in Shock Arrows? Not gunna happen. As for the BG...I'm with you there.
Arcade Edits: I don't care. I agree with Pie~, for once, it's fun, and that's all that matters. It's kinda stupid, but I actually get energised playing Why Not. It's the only one that does that for me besides I Do I Do I Do, and that wore of a while ago.
Inconsistencies: See above.
Translation for your paragraph under "Nobody really misses online mode":
"OMG DDRX SUXXXXXXX GO BACK TO EX2"
There's something we like to call ORIGINALITY of mixes. 5th began LVs, Max began groove radar and freezes, Max2 began Oni charts, EX began Random selection as well as non-red 10s, SN began sorting by level and high-quality dancers, SN2 began Planet Songs with gems such as Poseidon and Pluto, and X changes the entire thing...I like to think that most of it is for the better. If we go back to EX2, like you apparantly suggest, Konami will repeat itself and no one will buy: It's just an EX22. People who didn't like EX2, myself halfincluded, wouldn't get it, and Konami will stop funding DDR, therefore driving half of us crazy. Worst Case Scenario, of course.
As for X being an incomplete product...it seems that there were some things missing from it, but there wasn't really any reason to sell it back. It may be incomplete, but I agree with you, it's a quality product.
As for last year....the Wii wasn't too great, and the 360 was just that: a DDR 360, filled to the brim with songs that we'll never get. However, SN2 was EQUAL to both of them, and so I think it's fair that Konami gives us SN2, X, and even SN: They're all pretty good to different people. I believe that I'm going to be playing X, and even SN2, for quite a while yet. EX2...not that great, to me. SN2 was better, IMO.

I refuse to deal with your ass-backwards theory there and refuse to read the rest of your post. I will automatically assume there's some really retarded stuff in there so I can safely say that you're still wrong. _________________

I don't think I've seen a post by you that wasn't saying how something was terrible. Do you have positive opinions towards anything, or are you simply a very negative person?
And to stay on topic, I'll most likely buy either X or HP2 this weekend, and will give some thoughts on it. |
