It hasn't worked for me for the past 4 or 5 days. I assumed it was down, but I just moved back into my dorm and it works fine here. _________________

I wasn't able to get on for 3 or so (I don't totally remember) days at home on either computer; yesterday I came back to my dorm and it STILL didn't load, but for some reason it's fine today. _________________

It's not a wi-fi vs. wired issue.
It's not an ISP issue, it *may* be a regional ISP issue. (Example: Comcast in Colorado may not be affected while Comcast in New Mexico may).
My two cents here is that my friend just told me that "No one from New Mexico has been able to access the site for 5 days."
While I think there are two exaggerations here that don't really help, there's an underlying issue that has yet to be figured out.
This is not an IP blocking issue because the site would load and give a "You Are Banned" message.

www.ddrfreak.com/phpBB2
www.ddrfreak.com/phpBB2/
www.ddrfreak.com/phpBB2/index.php *SHOULD* all work and be identical.
If either of the first two doesn't work, you probably have HTTP Redirects turned off in your browser...
If the third doesn't work, there is something seriously wrong. |
Hey thanks alot. I was having problems getting on the site for a couple of days now. The site wouldn't load on my laptop so I went on my parents' computer to see if it worked on there. I tried deleting cookies and stuff which got me to go on the homepage but then it wouldn't show the forums. |

I missed you, DDRFreak. It wasn't working for me for about 3-4 days on my desktop. I did not try my laptop. I tried pinging the site and I think it gave me a requested timed out. I use Comcast btw. |

This is the first time I have been able to use this site in quite a few days. Maybe the problem is resolved?
I did notice that quite a few .edu domains have been down recently so I don't know if there is any correlation there. I know why at least a few of the .edus were down but the rest were/are a mystery to me as was this website's being down (for me anyway).
There was a fiber optic connection which broke which is what downed a few of the .edus. They wouldn't all be using that one connection though, which is why it is a curiosity to me why the others were down.
I know this because I was trying to get an Ubuntu .iso and I had to try about fifteen or so of the mirrors before I found a working one, all .edus.
There are also a few other random websites which are/were down. Most stuff was fine though. _________________

If it doesn't work, try to ping 64.71.156.35 to see if it will work. If it doesn't work, it's not a DNS problem. It might be the way your ISP's routing is set up. If it works, it has something to do with DNS.
Please let me know what happens. _________________

I was unable to access the site for a few days and tried pinging ddrfreak.com during that time. The ping worked just fine with no packets lost, although I wouldn't be able to give you any exact details since it was last week and I didn't record the result. D: The IP address it returned was the same as the one you posted if I remember correctly.
I also put the IP address into the address bar of my browser to see if I could access the site that way, and it took me to an "Index of /" directory (which is empty). I didn't try any further than that.
My ISP is Comcast and I'm located in Southern Colorado. |

I asked for the IP to the site awhile ago when it was down on IRC. I tried it and it didn't work, so I don't think it's a DNS problem. |
