Yea, i've been wanting to get a metal pad to play ITG on at home, and i have several specifications it must meet:
-It works (duh)
-It has a bar
-It is arcade-like
-It is EXTREMELY DURABLE*
*does ANY pad have the ability to stand up to 14s and 15s? If i want to play strangeprogram like 7 times in a row....can any pad survive? and what if i do that every day for 6 months? Am i sh!t out of luck, or is anything decent enough?
current ideas=
CF - but it has no bar and no brackets. the "bracket mod" is nothing like real brackets, and it is very loud. Also i hear it is also very dense, so it's like stepping on concrete. Also, there are many stories about how they have been not-up-to-par recently. -_-
blue shark - no bar.....EXPENSIVE.....toooo sensitive, no customer service. some are amazing, but some suck.
Thanks. _________________

CF is the most durable pad. As long as you don't use it on soft carpet it's pretty much unbreakable. The arcade mod is pretty good, but not perfect. And it doesn't feel like stepping on concrete, and I fail to see how it being solid is a bad thing (especially if you want durability).
As for recent quality, I have no idea. Mine is two years old and still works fine. _________________

your best bet is to build your own pad, but its obvious most people don't have the resources, skills, and time to build a DDR pad.
Theres a guy around my area that builds these DDR and PIU pads that are really nice, and i believe he sells them locally. He goes by technomancer and he builds some really nice pads. They got the durability of a cobalt flux with the performance of a nice arcade pad(they're the most arcade-like pads ive ever used). I've seen someone pass uber rave on them, so that says something.
heres a couple videos of them.

one of my friends also was challenged from the guys who makes these to run it over then try using it.

the first 2 videos are the guy who made the pads youtube account...try leaving him a comment to see if its possible for him to ship them out to you. His pads don't have bars, but their basically cobalt fluxes that are a hell of a lot better and more arcade like. The sensor design he uses is very nice and each panel has a nice "bounce" to it like an arcade pad and the panels are nice and firm. I believe they run around $200-250, but id ask him first hand. |

yeah, i could also build you one if you live near me, if you really wanted..
also, CFs are pretty durable, but nothing like an arcade
BS is durable, and very close to the arcade, plus it has a bar if you want _________________

mymybox also has had more problems than any other company ive ever seen. For example, at least 5 people have had their pads arrived broken or in not working condition. About 3 of them have been unable to fix it or anything. That alone is enough to turn me off the blueshark. |

Hmmmm....interesting.
Well, blueshark doesn't make pads with bars anymore...-_- but it seems that that would be my best choice otherwise.
for the flux, i like the durability, but it's lack of being like the arcade slightly dissatisfies me....i might just have to deal with it though....
making my own pad or buying a home made pad.....yea. I have NO time to do anything....so i'd have to buy it. Anyone near NYC???
durability.....uber rave? not hard enough.
it needs to be able to stand THESE:

Homebrew is for the cool. A happy medium that many successful homeplayers go for is a modified Cobalt Flux. I'd recommend that if you don't feel comfortable just up and building a pad, although it's well worth the time to thoroughly read through all the tutorials people have put together for homebrews. You'll learn a lot and save a ton, even if you're just modding an existing pad. _________________

Not that this means anything, but why aren't the videos showing you play the song? If you pass them, that's fine. I want to see you play it though... just put the camera in a different place, and bring it up to the screen when you are done.
Also (4/4). Make sure you show that. |

lol, a few of my older videos are just my feet, then people wanted to see the screen instead, so i switched. My laptop can only go in a place where it is hard to videotape feet and screen....=(
but if you want feet + screen, see my newest arcade stuff (TTFAF and Animate-Inanimate:
