We're talking about bluesharks?

2 poopy cases here out of X many pads isn't enough of a rate to warrant not going for the blueshark IMO.

2 poopy cases is enough for me to stay away. my blueshark crapped out on me after 1 month of being in my home. i didnt even get to play on in 10 times before something went horrible wrong. and even in those 10 times that i did play on it, there was so much messed up on it. the screws were coming loose, it was incredibly squeaky, the bar was really lose, my up and down arrows were extremely sticky, and the arrows would sometimes randomly spaz out. it was so high maintance that i had to screw in the screws after every song because they would become too lose to play on. my up arrow quickly shorted out on me, i have no idea why or how. then my right arrow went dead. i investigated and found nothing that would symbolize why it wouldnt work.

bluesharks are really crappy, even if they dont break.
i suggest to everyone not even dealing with it and to just get an afterburner. afterburners are made by A REAL COMPANY and will RESPOND TO YOUR PROBLEMS. mmb and cf are junk, dont bother.

and for everyone that has a working cf or bs, congratulations. i hope you enjoy your homeversion scores.

all ddr pads from any company just fail. warranties aren't long enough.

get your skill level in woodworking and soldering up, and build your own for 1/3 the price of some of these pads. easier to troubleshoot, much quicker service, etc.

just imo E1.gif get off ur asses and build your own pad.

Has anyone tried the MYMYBOX SOLOMODE METAL PAD 6 BUTTONS??? Or are the Nexen and Blueshark way better than this one?

my REAL sugggestion would to say frick it to homeversion and play in the arcade. but if you smartasses have to play at home then i suggested an after burner over cf or bs, because RED OCTANCE IS A REAL COMPANY. it seems better to buy from a company that has some sort of history of actually existing, not some 3rd party mmb or cf poopy.

if i was forced to buy another metal pad, id buy an afterburner.
if i could go back to when i was buying a metal pad, i would have told myself not to. because homeversion is a pain in the buttocks, and its not even worth bothering with.

i agree, although not about afterburner. my friend got her afterburner about 2 years ago and it hit the dust about 6 months ago. If your paying that much for a dance pad, it should work pretty much forever.

i had a cobalt flux but sold it due to the cobalt fluxes feeling like your stepping on concrete and being so damn louds. Really, foam pads are the way to go. You have to replace them every year or so, but they only cost arond $70 and give you (in my opinion) satisfactory performance at hom for what i paid. I can get quite a few AAAs on my foam pad, so that says something.

I'm sorry if you're upset, but you having a bad experience doesn't make the pad completely crap. Mine works fine, many people have one that works fine. Did you even contact MMB?

As for Afterburners, it doesn't matter how "real" the company is if the pad feels like crap to play on. Where have you actually seen a good review of an Afterburner?

BSs are far better.

The frst real metal pad I had was a solomode 2200 (4, not 6 arrows), frst song I payed, the corner bracket, and the wood underneath came apart.

pad made of foil contact + flakeboard/plwood + thin, breakable arrows = fail

pad made with soid steel, arcade sensors, thick arrows = win

i have never gotten a response from any of the dozen emails ive sent MMB. all i ever see is bad reviews of afterburners. i bet they arent even that bad, its just that so many people have heard from other people that they are bad, that the afterburner never even gets a shot.

and if one person, like me, says something negative about the BS everyone poopy bricks.

and if one person, like me, says something positive about the AB everyone poopy bricks.

ive played on 4 afterburners. Even when they work right they arent that great. The panels are way too recessed, it creaks and feels like your gonna break it if you try wearing shoes, and it seems like they break down pretty fast and are hard to fix.

the only plus side is for the time they work, they're sensitive. you're better off getting a TX 1000 and modding it.

For one, I'm not a dumbshit. And two, I'm not a "nub". I contacted MyMyBox, but they said it's my fault it broke and I can't return it. Yes, they really said that. Good customer service MY FUCKING ASS. Even my first metal pad, a TX-1000 clone, lasted longer than my BlueShark.

yeah, that warranty is a load of poopy. you cant even talk to MMB, theres no hope in contacting them.

if any of you havent realized this yet, im going to put it out there. ddr metal pads are a gamble. if you buy one, the chances are like 50/50 that you will either have a decent pad, or it will break right away. i wouldnt risk it. all metal pads out there have bad reviews, theres no perfect ddr metal pad. bluesharks arent as good as you want them to be, even if they do work properly. whoever tells you that bluesharks are the best metal pad, WRONG. build your own.

i would definitely NOT recommend the blueshark. its way overpriced and has the WORST costumer service. the company it comes from is a scam, dont even bother with bluesharks.

I bought one of the new Nexens. It came well after the initial announce date, but they responded to emails about it and it did come. At first not all the arrows worked, but I loosened one of the screws and then everything was fine. Responsiveness was good, and I was happy. Then it stopped working all of a sudden; PS2 would not recognize any button, not the start not the stop. It is important to note that the wire connecting the pad to the PS2 doesn't fit securely. It's like an old-school analog PC monitor connector, but without functioning screws, so it comes in and out pretty easily. I've sent two emails to MMB and they haven't responded. Probably got screwed out of money here. Doesn't really seem to have any way for me to open it up and examine since the arrows are stuck to something securely so I'm wary of prying them off.
