|
|
Hey anyone mind helping out? See, we are about to change our theme at our local arcade. We are putting the h4x theme through the whole patch.zip method but what I was wondering is if anyone can give or send me the correct timings on the fantastics/excellents/etc that way we won't be using the stepmania timing (cause everyone knows that stepmania timing is WAYYY easier than the itg ones). Please, anyone??
Thanks.

The theme isn't what controls the timings, it's the Stepmania.ini (which you might already know; I'm just clarifying), but either way, here they are:
JudgeWindowAdd=0.000000 <--Make this .002 for pad play
JudgeWindowScale=1.000000
JudgeWindowSecondsAttack=0.130000
JudgeWindowSecondsBoo=0.180000
JudgeWindowSecondsGood=0.135000
JudgeWindowSecondsGreat=0.102000
JudgeWindowSecondsMarvelous=0.021500
JudgeWindowSecondsMine=0.070000
JudgeWindowSecondsOK=0.320000
JudgeWindowSecondsPerfect=0.043000
JudgeWindowSecondsRoll=0.350000 |

I'm not sure why you need to change the timing windows. |

Yeah, not to mention if you're using the h4x theme it already has the right arcade timing windows in its metrics.ini... _________________

// Timing seems less accurate than ITGIO. Use a bigger window to compensate.
JudgeWindowAdd=0.0015
// to match ITG1's late arrows. -K
GlobalOffsetSeconds=-0.007
Make stepmania -0.0022 for hax theme. It works great. _________________

But the thing is, they're adding a theme to a machine - they shouldn't have any reason to touch the timing windows unless they're making them bigger, which is gay. |

Thing is we decided to install the itg eternity theme instead(we could never get the h4x one to work) and well...we just noticed a crapload of tri-stars and really really high scores that none of us ever got before. I HIGHLY doubt we got that good that quick. Even we know that something is up with the timing windows. If it helps, our machine was on r21 when we put the eternity theme and so far I haven't seen anything that looks wrong on the metrics of the theme. Only thing I noticed was what Kakuâ mentioned of the timing seeming less accurate. Would that be the problem?
We didn't mess with the theme we just d/l'ed it and installed it on our machine(no modifications). And this is all through patch.zip. |

We had the Eternity theme on our machine and it didn't give us a boost in scores. We also have a theme switcher now, and there is no difference in the windows on any of them. Are you sure you guys didn't just get better? Or perhaps the judgement animations are less distracting? |

Are you sure about that? Because I've always changed my settings on Stepmania.ini and it's always worked fine. As an experiment, I just set my Perfect window to .000001, and it definitely worked, even when I changed themes. _________________

That only depends if the metrics.ini have those values or not. He's only saying that the metrics.ini have a higher priority over the StepMania.ini. |
