I use Vans Authentics. They are very comfy, despite having no padding except for some in the sole, and have decent grip on the DDR panels. I was wearing them when I passed Xepher Oni for the first time. Occasionally, they will give me blisters, but I don't care, because they don't hurt that much anyway. |

Can someone tell me if Nike Dunks are any good for DDR? I'm thinking of getting some. I was originally going to get Frees, but my dad wouldn't want to pay $85 dollars for shoes I might not even wear. So I'll probably getting something in the $60-$75 range. So should I get the Nike 6.0 Dunks ($75 at PacSun), the normal Dunks ($70 at Journeys), or the Nike SB Dunks (about $75)? |

Soft pads: Barefoot
Cheap off brand metal pad: Barefoot
Cobalt flux metal pad at my house (main pad): Barefoot
Arcade metal pad: Barefoot if I am having an off day or think the staff wont care at all, else van low tops.
The upper ridge of the ball of my foot is callused as is my big toe. It is totally worth it.
Here's how I think about it, if you rip your foot/toe open it is a lesson, don't miss the buttons. |

I think I found my new favorite DDR shoes, until I can get some Frees. The shoes I now usually wear are Nike 6.0 Air Mogans. My PA definitely increases when I wear them, at least compared to my Etnies, and they are ridiculously comfy. Plus, they are really lightweight. But the shoelaces that come with them suck. They come untied way too easily. I solved that problem by using laces from another shoe. But anyway, they are really good shoes for DDR. Here's a pic of what mine look like:

I wear brown New Balance shoes when playing at the arcade or on a non-soft pad. I just use socks for playing on a soft pad. _________________

These are the shoes I usually wear when I play DDR. Etnies FTW! They're really good. They're light, comfy, and have good grip. I A'ed Xepher Oni in them.

Ignition 3.0 Pad: socks
Arcade: New Balances or Starbury. Neither are very comfortable for DDR, but comfortable for walking. _________________

for PA i use Adidas Originals Centennial Low(the rasta ones)
they're really light basketball shoes that have a "pivot point" on the ball of your foot part of each sole, which is nice.
and for stamina(on itg) i use Puma Tapers or drift cats, whichever i have with me _________________
