Today (12-15), I came across an unusual sight: A discarded DDR mat. It's a foam one, with its three-part insert still fully intact and unharmed. The exterior has seen better days, namely the bottom half of the pad, which has several small cuts and tears. The most notable thing about it is its lack of a system adaptor. In other words, the part where this pad would normally connect to a system(A PS2, I can only hope), is gone. It appears it was ripped off of the pad or something similar to that happened.
What I'm asking is: Is there any way to
a: see what system it once was used for, and
b: take the sensors, perhaps, and utilize them in creation of a new dance pad. Obviously the pad itself is useless to me in its current form, but I feel like there might be a way to get some use out of what I found.
Any help with this will be very much appreciated.

*facepalm* The buttons... Now I feel stupid. And the sensors can't be removed? That's a letdown, but I'll still get some use out of it to make my working pad handle a bit better, with a little thinking n my part. Thanks for the information. |

if it has the thick foam insert like the ignition pads, go ahead and at least keep that.
and also, if you plan on making anything yourself, keep the circuit board too _________________
