Problems with USB pad with stepmania

I have an ignition pad with the usb, now my computer reconizes it but it reconizes it as a 2 button controller. i can get the up arrow, start and select to work but how can i get the left down and right =/

have you tried configuring the controller inside stepmania by mapping the keys? dumb question i know, but you would be surprised as to how many people won't think of something like that.

I had the same problem. I went into Windows Settings, Control Pannels, Gameing Options, and changed it from a game pad to a RedOcatane USB pad. After that, I remaped the buttons and it started to work again.
