I bought my CF from www.cobaltflux.com , 299$ and I received my CF and this control box ....It's the same control box a friend got with his TX 4500 ...
When I plug my CF in ubs , Windows says " RedOctane usb pad " ... So It's not normal !!! I can't map the center button with this control box ....
A friend will give me the good control box because he doesn't plau PIU BUT I asked CF to sent me the correct box by Mail ... |

Hi, I just received my CF, and its great. I have one question though. How do I use it with Stepmania? I already tried hooking it up using the USB, and my computer finds it, i just don't understand how to set it up. Thanks for your help! |

Plug it in and go to the keymapping screen in SM. From there you just map them the same way you'd map keyboard keys. _________________

|
|
I built my platform for my CF yesterday and it still rocks when I use it. Is this normal? Is it just that the stress and abuse from the rocking is transferred to the platform instead of the CF? I made the platform out of 3/4" birch (hardwood) plywood. The CF and the platform rock together, not separately.
Also, the molding on the platform was made to be so snug that the CF won't fall out if I turn the entire thing on it's side (and even if I tip it further). Is this okay for the pad or is it causing too much stress on it?
Thanks in advance for any advice! |

I have been looking everywhere for a descent pad. I have concluded after much research these are the highest quality I am going to get. But is there any version with a bar? As I need one for the perfect DDR experience. _________________

I have not seen any on the cobalt flux's website, so i'm assuming no... and to my knowledge, the pads themselves do not come with connectors down at the bottom to add a bar on. but i maybe wrong.
the only way i can think of is to build a platform for your cobalt flux, and then buy another 3rd party bar and attach it to the platform itself. _________________

I really wish some people had the patience to read this topic a bit more before they ask the same questions all over again. In a bad mood, sorry.
No, no bars at all with CF. Gotta build it yourself on an external casing.

Ahh alright thank you!
I wish it did come with one. I don't trust myself to make a bar. I suppose back to the drawing board. _________________

Hey guys the cobalt flux that I bought from their website recently shipped, and I open the box, peel off the thin plastic covering on the arrows, and set it up with the control box and everything, but when I go to play it, the right arrow is completely dead. It's not even a screw issue because no matter how hard I stomp on it, nothing registers. There are no cracks on the pad, everything is like new, so I don't know what it could be. All the other arrows work fine except for the right one. Gah, if it's broken this sucks because it took about 6 weeks to get delivered. |

IMAGINE THAT

now don't do that...you just paid $350 for that Quote: | It's not even a screw issue | Are you sure? try loosening (not tightening) the screws, so that if you look at the panel so that it's perpendicular to your eyes, they should be flat, not bowed.
I also have a question of my own, does anyone here know how high the arcade mod is (in comparison to both DDR and ITG arcade pads)? _________________

It may be a faulty control box, but it could also be that a wire got disconnected. Open up the panel and see if everything looks ok. _________________

IIRC, the arcade mod is noticeably taller (as in, more of an indent) _________________

I finally ask a friend to give me his old control box in order to play PIU because the new control boxes CF send with the cobalt don't allow to map the center button !!!!!!!!!!!!!
I made 2 videos of me playing pump ^^ !
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jiSG9V2wQoc&feature=related ( song from NX )
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vS9W18cca4U ( old song from the PREX , Unforgettable memories ) .
I asked CF to send me an other control box but they didn't answer me !!
Do they still sell old control boxes ? ( with only the ps2 output and 2 little grey buttons ? ) |

Thanks, I was just about to bump it.
Edit: On a few occasions I've cleaned it with 409, which was much easier as I'd spray it on paper towels, wipe, and throw them away, but I was never sure if this was OK, so I stopped. Is it OK? Because that is easier. _________________
