|
|
ok well I just hacked my itg ps2 game to get ddr arcade mixes 3-8 (herd i could only have 500 songs and i had 511 and i didnt really like those 2 mixes anyways), mario mix, and itg 1 songs (i downloaded a pretty legit song pack cuz the orginal file for itg songs was ridiculously huge) on the itg ps2 disk because I take my ddr metal pads and games to local events and hauling my pc around for itg pc was just a pain in the butt.
ITG ps2 hack works fine except 2 problems, LOTS of lag when trying to switch songs (holding the arrow in doesnt make it lag but going 1 song at a time makes it lag really bad). Also 500 songs is ALOT of songs....especially when its alphabetical and im in the C's and want to go the M's....is there anyways i can make it so its like itg pc/stepmania where it has sections according to the folders?
I forgot to mention that when i made the pck file for the songs im not exactly sure if i clicked "generate cache" or not and idk if that would make a difference at all. |

You should try to removing songs, you don't need that many. Cut it down to 250-300... and it would also work if you just used your hacked version for stepmania files, and your legit PS2 game for the ITG officials... so that means, remove the ITG songs from your current DVD. |

ok well i guess that does make sense cuz i dont play ALL the ddr songs, but isnt there a way there could be categories for each mix in the song selection? |

Without some heavy/moderate modification, then no. |

The reason for the lag is you're failure to burn to cache of your songs to the disk. Yes there is a way to enable group sort (OpenGroove released a modification with it). Also, I have a working disk of DDR 1st through Supernova + Mario, so if you got the same pack I did, you should be fine. |

this is my my 5th or 6th dvd-r disk i wasted trying to get this to work fine, could u tell me the tools that you used and what exactly you did or where you got the steps to do it from. I used http://64.233.169.104/search?q=cache:2pDEit6KKLAJ:stepmaniaug.com/itgps2hacks.aspx+stepmaniaug.com/itgps2hacks&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=2&gl=us as a guide for steps and tools (i had to give the cached version from google since the site doesnt work anymore or at least now it doesnt) Also for the packs I just deleted all the files that began with D except DA0ADE3A from what the site said I needed that file. I kept all the other packs. I also tried using opengroove's thing to add the "group" filter and it didnt work, nothing changed at all. It still lags with 200 songs with cache when i was packing, not as much of a lag as what it did with the 500 songs but very little difference as well. Any help would be MUCHLY apperciated! |

Uh, you need to change the linking in the .sm file. Right now it probably says MP3 instead of OGG, since it works fine in ITG PC but not on ps2.
Also, the caching tool is included in the boxorroxors/opengroove tutorial. |

ok i think i got it, according to the opengroove it says
"Note:
Some comments just DO NOT work. You will see this, as the game will hang while processing to the songwheel.
In this case try another comment. We will work on a list of allowed comments, this is WIP at the moment."
going to do another attempt brb |

Are there any suggestions for burning to a DVD using a Macbook Pro? Do I have anything specific to do to burn a game image correctly?
Also, I followed the guide for hackn the disk to a tee, yet it would only load a far as the "now loading" screen and stop. I wait and it doesn't load. I only have about 300 or so songs. _________________

maybe there is a problem with the way i burned it this is EXACTLY wat i did
-ripped LEGIT ps2 game to computer
-deleted all of the packs that began with D except DA0ADE3A
-made sure songs had 256x80 banners 320x240 backgrounds, all songs ogg, all banners and backgrounds png and all are sim files, and no bg movies
-with all the songs in the root of my C drive (C:\Songs\*ddr folders, soad folder and itg folder*) i packed the songs and generated the cache with the comment of default test.
-added the pack to the pack folder
-rebuilt the pck.idx
-rebuilt the iso in this order
the IMG
pcks folder
SLUS 211.77
system.cnf
boot.pak
800mb dummy file (400mb was too small still)
-built the iso with iml2iso
-burned the iso with dvddecrypter on 1x speed onto a sony 4.7gb dvd-r
did i do ANYTHING wrong????? |
