OK, I had used this site "http://stepmaniaug.com/itgps2hacks.aspx" as a guide to hack my itg ps2 game. I unpacked my ITG ps2 game and added to the songs ddr mixes 1-8 and the ddr ps2 version songs (no double songs) and I had a full ITG songpack for stepmania instead of doing all that un-avi crap. I know there is some limit for max songs but I could never find the number -_- I repacked the song folder and generated the cache. Deleted the original ITG song pack and added the 1 I created (I did this in the pck folder i ripped from the ITG disk) and made a new idx file. Used CDgen and IML2ISO and burned it using dvd decrypter to a sony dvd-r blank dvd at 1x speed. Loaded magic swap 3.6 dvd and then swapped in my newly made ITG hacked dvd. It seemed to load up fine, screen went black....waited for it to load...the screen went back to the ps2 menu (where u can check ur memory card and load games manually) and it said reading disk...then it went to that red screen saying "insert a ps2 or ps1 disk". Did I do something wrong? |

could be due to the number of songs, but usually the game will still boot but it becomes crashy
btw the song limit is ~500 songs
did you pack off of the root of your hdd? |

Okay, I have a couple of questions about getting ready to make the disc.
1. Does ITGPS2 support folder pictures? I've got some in the right area, but if they don't work I'll take 'em out.
2. I have simfiles that don't have banners or backgrounds. Will it still run fine in ITGPS2? Like, will it just replace it with the ITG logo, like the arcade does? Or will it crash?
Thanks. _________________

Mmkay, so new question. If it's possible, is there a way to modify the theme to have these three things?
1. ITG2 background (basically turn it red... I've seen it in a video)
2. ITG2 "Judge" images (Fantastic, Excellent, etc... wouldn't this be a simple "replace the image" fix?)
3. ITG2 dance meter
I may seem like I'm whoring out ITGPS2 for ITG2, but I always like these things. _________________

1. yes, basically replace a few images and change a few values in an xml file (i was the one who made the video )
2. slightly more difficult, itg1 ps2 doesn't work with judgment images that have the Excellent- and -Excellent afaik. So you'd need to photoshop those out.
3. yes, i've done that before too. its also replacing an image pretty much |

If it's not too much trouble, could you show me how to do it? Or at least the second question? Thanks. _________________

Hi!
I've done everything but when it's time to click on "export IML file" i get an error msg that says "too short location lenght (less then 600000 sector)"
What do i need to do?
Also is there a place to download songpacks that are already converted to the right formats? (ogg, banners, bg, SM) cause i don't feel like converting all my songs one by one T.T _________________

Cat's Eye: I can't respond to the second question, but I plan on making a guide to quickly converting simfiles when I get home in about a half hour. _________________

Thank you very much. I'm sure you know converting all those files takes a very long time.
In the meantime, does anyone know how to solve the proble i have when exporting the IML file?? _________________

Not a problem. However, if you're looking for premade ITGPS2 compatible packs for official games, check out this link:
http://boxorroxors.net/downloads.php?dir=Converted%20Sims
And I have another question for Kalek: Is there any possible way to, after riping ITGPS2 to my comp, change the file that the game creates on my Memory Card? I'd like to be able to keep gamesaves of different mixes I create on a single card, if that makes sense. If so, how? Thanks. _________________

Yeah! that's exactly what i wanted, thank you very much.
EDIT: i noticed theres a file called OG_Courses_DDR_1st_to_8th_AC.zip on that site. does that mean that courses can be made?
i'm soo far behind on this xD
EDIT 2: OKAY! i did it, i burned the DVD and everything is okay, i used the guide from that same website you gave me that Kalek posted i while back, the only thing i didn't understand was the Cache thing, my songlist still lags even if i mark the 'create cache' box, i saw there was an option to do it diferently but i didn't quite get it :\
Also, is there a way to get group sort for this so that it's not just a huge list? _________________

Cat's, I'm not sure.
Okay, this is getting really, really, /really/ annoying. I have burned at least four DVDs of two different hacked ISOs, yet SwapMagic STILL tells me that it's an invalid PS2 disc. I think it's the way I'm burning it... what programs do you guys use? Is there a specific method?
EDIT: Nvm, figured it out. _________________

Mmkay, so new question. Kalek pointed me to the "group sort" and topgrade fix patch at Boxorroxor, but I have no idea as to how to install it to my ITGPS2 extracted folder. Anyone know?
Thanks. _________________
