Opinions on linking two Ignition Dance pads?

hey guys whats up. im going to be buying pads soon from redoctane, specifically two ignition 3.0s. if i wanted to play doubles with these two pads, what would be the best way to link these two soft pads together without having to use duct tape (which may damage the pad).

I have a Cobalt Flux and since I only have one, I can't play doubles. That's where the 2 Ignition pads that I also have come into play. I use duct tape to hold them together. I see that you're afraid to use duct tape with them but trust me, the duct tape hasn't ruined my ignition pads. Hope this helps!

you could take 1 big sheet of wood and then nail the pads to it.

lol now dont i feel silly going OMGima buy wood and so much stuff to make the pads stay together ahh its gonna cost like $35 O_O...... and then the idea of 10 cent pins. thanks man the link helped a lot would save me a lot of time and money

You could just try putting them side-by-side and using them that way at first to see if you even think you need to do any modifications.

I know as long as I don't play anything that's too heavy, having two pads side-by-side is okay as, although they do slide a little, it isn't enough to make the song incompletable. You should still be able to score decently on easier stuff.

Now if you want to play heavier songs (particularly more intense songs), then you'll be looking more towards either some modification or learning to do play doubles with one pad, using the corners for 2P.

You could also try finding some chairs that are pretty solid and putting your two pads side-by-side and one chair on each end. Maybe put two chairs on the back too if you like. It shouldn't be going anywhere if you do that, and it also doesn't modify your pads either. The downside is you'll need to find some good chairs. If you can move the chair with a gentle nudge, that's not a good chair to use for this.

Specifically, you'll want a heavy metal-framed chair. You don't want wooden and you don't want one of those swivel computer type chairs.

If you don't have that, maybe try putting heavy stuff around the sides (except the front side) and that should hold it in place but don't hurt yourself playing this way as that would be more easily done than you'd think. Make absolutely sure you don't stump your toes or anything else equally unpleasant. I am not responsible for any of this you may try. Do it at your own risk.

And if you are just bent on modding your pads, then do that. I was providing alternatives to pad modification.
