So um, is it bad that awhile ago I was watching Family Guy, and when Quagmire came on, I thought something to the effect of "Whoa, It's AA Bob!" (I don't remember if the exact thought was "It's AA Bob" or "It's AA Bob's avatar", but I don't think it matters in this case)?

I thought this was all established years ago. None of ITG ps2's flaws are enough to prevent me from enjoying the game, and the fact that you can use it to burn Stepmania discs for the ps2 makes it an undeniably worthwhile release.

Maybe this was established a while ago. I don't know. If it was, I don't see why it would be such a big deal to talk about it again though.

About the rest of what you said, I agree. It doesn't prevent me from enjoying the game. I simply could enjoy it more if it were changed slightly.

The use for making custom disks is certainly useful, but wouldn't you have to have a modded PS2 to get that to work, or not? I don't know enough about that.

It is indeed a worthwhile release, regardless.

i have a very strong dislike toward ITG, and this list of "shortcomings" that "take away from the game's fun factor" made me lol. i dont like the game, but that list was stupid.

disliking game play related things is understandable, but disliking that you cant press "O" to select your song and that the game was censored(things that in no way take away from your ability to hit arrows as they scroll) is just dumb. if overhead isnt scrolling perfect for you, get a better TV. i've seen TVs where overhead has a bit of a curve to it, it happens, buy something with a flatter screen. i've played ITG on several TVs, and it does what your describing on the ones that arent flat(IE the older style tvs where the screen curves out, i think the term is concave). pretty much everything else your complaining about is just "the game doesnt do it how DDR does", which is dumb. this isnt DDR.

as for the note skin, i can agree here. its one of my biggest complaints about ITG. on X2.5 or up i'm fine, but below that the arrows seem to large and over lap eachother too much for me to read them. it effects me a lot on songs like energizer or pandemonium. on this note, i dont see how you can say that the step zone markers are too small when they are the same size as the arrows.

sorry if that was late, i just like to voice my opinion.

Concave in inward, like a cave. Convex is outward. The only thing I have to say about the list besides what's been said already (though this has too) is the step zone/arrow size. It always seemed much bigger than DDR's to me, which is why it's harder to read on slow speeds.

I agree with HumanBeing, insofar as the slow loading times really made me give up (eventually) on the console ITG.

And playing ITG2 last night, I also got the illusion that Overhead still had a bit of an angle to the arrows. But I'm guessing that'sjust something I'll have to get used to.

Human's first post wasn't the flamebait in this thread. Tranzworld acting soooo offended by the OP was.

Besides, ITG is just a game made for DDR players who wanted to be able to PA while Bar Raping on 1.5x Solo, so they built a game where 1.5x solo is the norm and put in songs so difficult that they couldn't physically be completed without the bar, thus absolving them of all bar raping charges.

FLAME ON!

lol flame bait.

also every official ITG song can be completed no-bar, its just some people's personal preference to use the bar. also if using the bar is wrong, as you are implying, then so is using any kind of equipment not already equiped to your character in any RPG or MMO.

I have yet to see an ITG song that could not be played without a bar. Most songs including keyboard ones can be played without a bar. I'm working on them right now.

Arbitarily limiting yourself, etc.

It appears that way for Overhead/Cell arrows. I don't really see any signficant angle with Overhead/Metal arrows.
