A2000:
I think the reason why was because they could tell you were going to try to actually ddr instead of play and giggle and act like the stereotype
Now I feel guilty for chuckling 15 feet away fromt he DDR SN machine at gameworks at these two girls who whored Toxic on Beginner for 5 games straight.
Then again, nothing is more annoying than
"kaitentou kara nai gengo haitenshon to katai tenpo
I sendou suru jaiken go kara daikenkai... YOUR TOXIC" |

Yeah 大è¦è§£ | DDR, I think you're right. I was dead serious when I was playing the game and I really tried to do well even though I sucked. I thought beginner was pretty easy though. I don't understand people having a hard time at that. I had a hard time transitioning from Beginner to Light. One was too hard and the other too easy. I couldn't believe how much I was helped out with how to do the trickier steps. |

Spring break 2005, i started playing because my friends did, and it looked fun so i gave it a try...then i loved it and got better and it was something to do on the weekends. now i can do all these hard songs i would of never thought i could do before..i guess thats why i keep at it. i like to test myself even further, see how far i can go and then look back to the time when i couldnt do it. |

I started playing DDR in 2005 when I saw some people playing it and it looked really interesting to me so I started playing it. Some weird wacky thing is when I started out i could AA beginner songs and A light the first two times I played I got a AA and then an A. So then I kept practing and practicing until I got where i am now with me doing 8 and 9 footers!!! |

(you guys have to excuse me, i haven't been on this site since, like, 2005. D: i just realized my signature still says "OVERBLAST!!".
lulz.)
When did you first start playing DDR? (and how long have you been playing)
In 1998. (i'm 17 now.)
so, almost half of my life, i've been playing. :]
What got you to start playing? (initial interest)
when i went to that rocky & bullwinkle theme park in southern california (i haven't lived in cali for a long time. :[ so i forgot what it's called. sorry.) one night, we went to the arcade in it, and i saw these young guys, probably 21 at the oldest, in business suits, spinning around, stepping everywhere to 'Butterfly'.
i saw all the flashing lights, the music sounded amazing,
and i gave it a shot.
...i failed miserably,
but the game stuck with me so much.
What made you keep playing? (why do you like playing currently)
i love the music, i love the concept, i love all of it.
i wanted to be better than those guys i saw playing that day.
i played off and on for about two or three years,
but when i was about 12, i bought a home version and learned all of the tricks to get to the level i'm at now. _________________

I've always loved DDR, but did not start until DDR Ultramix 2 came out on Xbox. My friend Jessica told me to go buy it, and I did!
Its been my favorite DDR game since : ) |

I started playing around the same time DDRMAX (USA Home version) came out. My sister brought it home, played it for like a week, then quit. Thats when I took over... I've been playing ever since. _________________

I started playing DDR around senior year of high school (I'm a sophomore in college now). A girl friend introduced me to step mania, and it was so much fun keyboarding stuff that I decided to buy an Ignition 3.0 pad. Now I'm in the DDR Club at UMBC and about to purchase a Cobalt Flux. _________________

I started playing DDR on my senior trip to an arcade in middle school. Before that whenever I used to go to arcades my father used to tell me I should try this game out but I was too nervous to. After that I became a fan of the game. I didn't really get to play much again til I got to high school. I never owned a DDR game until Hottest Party came out ._. My friend who was really good helped me get off Beginner mode and on to Basic. After that I bought Hottest Party and been hooked on this game again since. |

I only started playing a month ago.
I had known it existed a few years prior, though. Just never played it.
One day we had it set up at school on a PS2.
I went and watched.
I thought "Hey, that's cool. I'm renting that after school.", and so I did.
I got addicted and got a copy for myself. And have been palying ever since. |

What made you keep playing? (why do you like playing currently)
i first started playing ddr in mid september 2007
ive only been playing for 4 months
what got me started was, one day i was in toyrus in New York and i happend to go into the r zone(video game department) and i say one of my friends up on the ddr platform and i wanted to give it a try anyway so i put in a doller and went for it
i remember my first song was dragon blade on heavy(i had made a mistake on the difficulty )
after that my mom had went out and brought me a copy of ddr supernova2 i instintaly took to it and now im an expert.
what made me keep playing was the constant gloting that my friends do every time they aa of aaa, a song it really pisses me off so i kept on tring hard until now im already and expert and im tring to pass sakura on expert i can clear the challenge no prob but i cant help getting tired during the expert...... i still have no clue why
first a on expert: until forever by beatdrop on ddr supernova 2
first aaa an expert: dragon blade i was hella lucky i had just bearly made the aaa
first beatdown: dragon blade expert my fault with the difficutly |

When did you first start playing DDR? (and how long have you been playing)
I started playing DDR at the age of ~10(around there). Well I'm almost 15 now, so that's almost over five years.
What got you to start playing? (initial interest)
Well I used to go to the mall and see people playing DDR, and I always wanted to try it. I already had a interest is dance(performing arts), and I was excited that there was a video game for the thing I love to do most. But I soon found out that DDR isn't and wasn't anything like I thought it was. I started playing on beginner mode, and I didn't really get addicted to it until I hit light mode, then I started playing more frequently.
What made you keep playing? (why do you like playing currently)
Well, I still like playing becuase it's fun to master new songs, and get better everyday. A few years ago, I made a goal to be able to play on heavy mode in a few years, and I have almost accomplished that goal, I can do almost all songs on standard, and many songs on heavy. _________________

# When did you first start playing DDR? (and how long have you been playing)
I started like in 2003 or so I don't remember. I have been playing for 5 years.
# What got you to start playing? (initial interest)
I saw ppl at the arcade playing the game and it looked like fun. When I tried it for the first time I failed miserably.
# What made you keep playing? (why do you like playing currently)
I thought with practice I could be as good as those ppl in the arcade. I still play cuz it's well...fun. |

Well my girlfriend got DDR for christmas two years ago. And I hated the game. I thought it was the most worthless thing ever. So when I went over to her house she wanted me to play it because she thought it was fun. So I tried it for her. And it was actually really fun. I wanted to buy it the next day, and I did.
Oh and by the way, I skipped going to a Jack's Mannequin concert just to buy it. I was going to go with my cousin. She actually got to meet Andrew (The Singer), and she bragged about it forever. I didn't care though, I got DDR! |

When did you first start playing DDR?
I started in 2002, dont remember the exacts.
What got you to start playing?
My friends were into to it, and got me into it too. I got my first home game version in 2002/2003 for my ps2 (DDR Max), and been hooked since.
What made you keep playing?
I was inspired by watching lil b during freestyle tournements to keep playing so that I could become good at freestyle mode. Even though freestyle not as popular as it used to be, I still keep playing bcause I love the game. _________________
