Can someone explain Slake to me, please?

I'm serious, here. Now, I understand that some songs are more ambient than others and don't always have a definite melody or rhythm, but it really seems like Slake's music in general is made to be intentionally bad. Not only that, but not one song he's done that has been featured on DDR has fit in with its style of gameplay. IIDX... it's debatable, because the songs he's written as "Sparker" are actually pretty good, in my opinion.

Now, this isn't about me hating Slake or his music. I'm seriously wandering how he got work with Konami, and how he is able to continually return to do more songs for them when he's (almost) universally reviled.

More to the point, can someone explain to me what might not be terrible about songs like 22Dunk? Again, I'm not saying "I hate Slake's music," (even though I do), I'm saying "Could a fan of Slake's tell me why they don't hate him?"

Okay, so I guess we'll have to attribute it to a pact with Satan or something, then.

Here's a better question: how come he's able to write relatively cool songs like Brightness Darkness and Boundary, but only when he uses the name "Sparker"? My only guess is that he has multiple personalities or something...

I kinda feel like all of SLAKE's songs have a good rhythm but just suck in general, and what the hell is with I'm For Real.

Honestly, only Slake songs I like are Music To Your Head, Gambol, Breath (it's alright enough to be mentioned), & Scream Squad (best one!)...But everything else just isn't that great.
