Won't affect performance of the pad. | The sheet metal also ads about 1/8 inch around each wood square, so maybe they will fit better. Getting exact measurements isn't easy, so there is most likely going to be tiny errors in some places. I've had a few bad measurements, but it still turned out well. |

And yeah, I just went ahead and hammered down the sides of the sheet metal, and put the pieces back on the base and it looks pretty swell. So it turned out fine. |

sorry but after all these posts about 1/4 and 1/8 stuff. I started wondering...
What do the numbers mean? (Its probably completely obvious, but I just want to make sure) |

Hey. It's been a while since I've been to this forum. Looks like there have been some very creative ideas since then.
I noticed some grumblings about the prices that I had on my web pages. They were a bit misleading because the price of steel sheet metal has increased so much since I built my pads. I have updated my site so as not to get anyone's hopes up about building one of these things on the cheap.
Regards,
Stoli _________________

Dude...you need to really get on a training schedual soon. Im not saying im perfect, but you are way too heavy. Your heart does not like you.
Get dancing on a pad, ride a bike, walk, dont eat any white flour foods, no carbs, absolutely NO softdrinks, No sweets,
Eat only good wheat breads, only brown rice, drink more water than you can handle, eat good meats...turkey, chicken , tuna, turkey bacon is good....Eat fresh fruits, and vegies...NOTHING FROM CAN!!...
Get in a gym and start slowly on a workout plan. SWEAT a lot and make sure you get plenty of water water water.....
Good luck and im only saying this cause I care...Yea, i care about someone i dont know... |

Alright, since I am using a Konami softpad control box for my homepad's control box, I need to know one thing. What do I run the ground wires to? There is only one ground on the Konami softpad chip, compared to a regular controller which has a ground for every button. What do I do? |

WOW... i just finished building my pad and i gotta say, for my first pad ever that was pretty damn easy... and considering how friggin cheap it was it looks beautiful.
Unfortunately i didn't have access to the camera today (idk where the hell it is ) so i don't have pics of the build process. But obviously i'll take pics as soon as i find the camera.
Actually, although its put together and working, it isn't quite finished... menards didn't have enough brackets for all the sensors and so i'm missing one in each pad and two in the up arrow, plus i need to raise the solid panels another 1/8" or so.
I finished it too late to test on hard songs (ppl are sleeping) but i tried a couple 1's and 2's and the performance is unbeleivable considering i'm missing 5 sensors. Plus, due to the way i designed the pad, you have such control over the sensitivity that i even got it to the point that setting a normal (relatively light) dualshock controller on the pad would 'hold' it.
Anyway, tomorrow i'll come back with actual performance numbers and hopefully some pics. _________________

DMS, I'm excited that you're almost done and that you chose my design. You seemed to really breeze through building it pretty fast. |

It was very clean, sophisticated, and seemed a bit easier to built than Riptide's. I know I had some bad measurements somewhere, because all my panels look a bit lopsided when you take them out and look at them, but it's no big deal when they are in the base. I should be done with the pad itself and the wiring tomorrow. Possibly the bar, and I can hopefully get my arrows printed soon. |

DMS and idConstruct. Awesome job so far both of you!
I did a tiny amount of work today. I cut a part of a non-button panel, assembled most of one of the button panels, and cut the PVC and dowel, as well as tested how well they worked as is by just blowing into it. I may attach a thin layer of felt to the dowel to make it slide a little better and fit a bit more snugly, but for the most part, I'm pleased with how effective it is.
Hopefully I'll get a full day off soon and be able to finish it. I have a bunch of money now though, so yay for that! (hopefully I'll be able to reimburse my generous donors soon) _________________

I know what to do to lose weight(used to be a bodybuilder). I used to smoke and quit 8 years ago but developed a eating disorder because of it(because i was used to putting something in my mouth, so that thing became food. there is a Psychology word for it, just can not remember what it is). I made an appointment to see a nutritionist and plan to get back into bodybuilding(had so much fun doing that ). also have to watch my depression levels, if I get too depressed I will overeat without knowing it.
But I thank you for you're concern |
