I mean, I CAN, but why would anyone want to? How can you play DDR well while holding a drink? That's just weird. |

Referring to "This": man that's embarrasing. I can't imagine the embarrasment of falling onto the guy dancing! That was funny. |

Ok admitedly if you were playing max300 or a song with a lot of jumps you'd be silly to hold a drink but say butterfly, b4u or other slow easy songs, (superstar comes to mind).
Hmm anyways at the place I play the pads are too slippery I feel like I'm going to fall off when doing fast, hard songs maybe I should put some spill some coke on there for grip |
It's OK to mix liquids with electronics. Death by bathing with toasters is really just a placebo effect, toasters are harmless to bathe with. Especially when plugged in. _________________

I'm at SuperNOVA in Hampton Beach having a great time, played about 9/12 songs so far, and this kid asks if he can play two player. I say "of course!" and we get to putting coins in. The machine ate two of his quarters because the 2nd player slot is crap, so he goes off for a minute to find maintenance. While he's gone this group of about 7 or 8 kids ranging from ages 5-13 (I'm guessing) comes along with a father who seems rightfully pissed off at them. They were off the walls hyper and loud. One of them kept asking the dad if he could play DDR, and the father continuously says "no, you have to wait for these kids to be done first." The kid got way too tired of waiting after about 20 seconds and ran up to the machine and started on my credit when I was turned. It was a small thing, but I was ripped because this was one of the most annoying kids I've ever seen. I started playing without the 2nd player kid and his two quarters were still in the machine. Then he comes over with maintenance in the middle of my song and the worker started unlocking the machine and giving more credits right when I was in the middle of frozen ray standard, and I failed. He actually walked right in front of my screen and started screwing around with the machine. I was ready to to ape sh*t. Oh well, that was one of the worst DDR experiences I've ever had.
That video of the river dance dude is ridiculous, though.
I want to rip his face off after watching the vid.
Why the hell would someone do that? |

I don't really hate this but it makes me feel bad when people roll up in wheelchairs and watch me for ten minutes straight. It makes me feel so guilty. It happens all the time to me up at the SuperNOVA in Hampton Beach. |

That happens to me pretty often. Tis always awkward...
BTW: I see that you're new, so a little tip: edit your posts rather than double posting. People will rip you apart for doing that here... _________________

I had this happen yesterday: some guy decides to play a 15 minute megamix when there are 5 other people waiting to play. Not proper. _________________

At the arcade today, there was this hippie mom there with a bunch of kids; an asian girl, black girl, and two hick white boys. The black girl started a round, so I put my token up to mark my spot in line. When I sat down to wait, the hick boys ran up to grab the token.
I told them to leave it as it's a placeholder, and the hippie mom said "You can't talk to a kid that way" I was confused by the gender balance of her kids, so I told her to keep her legs together and keep her kids in line even if they were adopted, and pointed out the large sign next to the machine explaining the coin-placeholdering.
I heard her quietly say after "he deserves an ass-whooping", so I told her to not say anything she'd regret later on, so she left with her kids and I got a free round of didder. _________________

That's because most people think it's absolutely ridiculous having to wait to play, and that they should always be first.
Want to know one thing I hate? People who obviously don't know about the coin line, taking people's quarters/tokens off the machine and putting them in like they're their quarters/tokens. It's happened to me plenty of times, and it really pisses me off. |

Then use a coin that you know will jam the machine. That's what I always use to hold my spot. If they put it in, well too bad They don't get to play. _________________

1st time:
I've gotten heckled once for playing PIU (yeah, not DDR), and it was a freestyle where I let out all my tricks. People clapped and one dude was like, "Man, that kid jumped over the bar, and shut it down." I felt great, then at the last moment, when I finished, this douchebag literally points at my face and starts laughing. His finger was about 5 inches away from my face. I could smell the alchohal from his breath and the snot from his finger. I was disguested and the people that cheered me on stepped up to him like a fight was going to break out.
"Whoa, now people are going to fight for me?" I wanted it to happen, but the a$$hole just walked off with his girlfriend head down and muttering something under his breath.
2nd time:
My buddy was playing a crazy hard song, can't remember it, but it seemed like he was doing a good job of saving himself from failing. This big fat dude comes walking by us as we were watching our pal taking the steps. He starts laughing really really hard, like obnoxiously hard. HAR HAR HAR HAHA!! I see his wife trailing behind him, and I shout to her, "YOUR HUSBAND IS THE BIGGEST DOUCHE BAG I"VE EVER SEEN, HE NEEDS THIS MORE THAN US!" I made sure he heard me, and he turns around as if he was going to have to stick it to me in front of his woman.
"What?" I tell him, "Do you like being made fun of?" He settles it there by walking away. I guess he thought people that played dancing games were losers, but hey... standing up for everyone that has a good cause you agree with is a right that everyone should have. I have to be honest though, I was pretty scared. |
