hehe, acually those circles were not scratchs after all, thats just how the SM disks are burned. And for some reason today then just started working again after a session of good old 5th mix.

I use the PS-Two fix for my slim unit ps2. I just got DDR Party Collection yesterday and I can't get it to boot. It keeps telling me that it's an invalid ps2 disc. I use Swap Magic 3.6 to boot it. I tried PPP to see if there was something wrong with my mod, but that isn't the case at all. PPP boots up just fine. Anyone have any suggestions on what to do to boot Party Collection? |

Are you using the CD Swap Magic Disc? Party Collection isn't a DVD. _________________

That might explain it. I'll try it later. |

hi
my friend sold me his extreme jp since his ps2 with a modchip broke.
then, i bought a fliptop and swapmagic (3.6 i think)
i put the fliptop on and everything and whenever i load in extreme jp after switching the swapmagic out, it says "not a valid ps2 disc." i know the swapmagic works since i tried loading an american ps2 game with it (We Love Katamari, to be exact). also, normal games without using the swapmagic worked fine.
anyone have a solution to this?
thanks in advance!
PS i can elaborate on anything if i didnt explain it well enough. sorry 'bout that |

Are you pressing Square after swapping the discs? And does it say "not a valid PS2 disc" immediately after you press Square, or sometime before? Also, do you have a slim PS2 or a big one? _________________

I think you need to either clean the disk &/or just wait alittle after the swap screen comes up. I've had this happen before. I also get it that it'll go to the PS2 home screen (w/ those spinning cubes) for a second & then say it's not a PS2 disk, which is due to the disk being dirty.
Hope this helped. |

You have to press Square, not X (I think X just boots the disc normally, as if you weren't using the swap disc at all). I know you said you've tried Square, but try it again.
If that's not it, then try holding the outer lid down with a piece of tape or two. I've had the same problem you described, and it turned out to be because the outer lid didn't hold down the PS2's sensors very well, and sometimes when I swapped the discs, I would bump the lid and it would give me the error message. Taping down the outer lid fixed the problem completely. I just use the inner circular lid for everything now. _________________

Well...you are using the correct swap disc, right? (i.e. not the CD instead of the DVD or vice versa)
Do you have a burned game or a different JP game you could try? That way you could tell for sure if the problem is your copy of EX JP or the swap disc (using an American game doesn't seem like a very conclusive test to me).
I'm out of ideas. _________________

What's a good and reliable site to get the fliptop+swap magic combo from? I'm probably gonna be importing next month. (hooray IIDXHS). _________________
