Hey, I have a question. A couple of months ago, I bought this pad, and it was defective (left button did not respond at all). What I am wondering is, will doing this mod make it work? Thanks.

I was thinking about getting that pad.
Does anyone know if this is a decent pad?

Mine was dead on arrival. My BlueShark is currently having the same problem (left button not responding well). I'm honestly not going to buy anything from MyMyBox ever again. I'm sick and tired of getting broken stuff from them.

Yes, that mod should work fine, but the problem is in the wiring. Make sure both wires are soldered to the sensor properly, then do that same for the chip at the front of the pad. You may have to remove the base of your pad if that doesn't fix it.

Well, there's a bunch of wires on the bottom of the pad, and they connect into different ports. Is that what you mean, or am I thinking of something else?

Do not buy a MT6 Metal pad.

If you want to buy a metal pad, buy a blueshark metal pad!

http://www.mymybox.com/ddrmbsgxg365.html blueshark metal pad is way better than CobaltFlux.

I'll get pics sometime later today.

Oh, and I did buy a BlueShark, and it is crapping out on me. The left arrow doesn't usually respond well anymore, and I've had it for about a month. Does it have anything to do with it being on thin carpet? I know that Cobalt Fluxes have problems with thin carpet, but I wasn't told if the BlueShark does or doesn't have problems when be using on thin carpet.

Oh, and yeah, ban all the MMB bots.

Okay. Time for a reeeeeeally sad confession.

I don't have a PS2.

...Yeah, I know. Anyway, I wanted to get a metal pad to play with my Stepmania game, instead, and I want to know a good PS2 to PC converter cable that will not cause any lag with a Blueshark metal pad.

Can anyone make a recommendation?

Also, should this be posted somewhere else?

By rotating the sensors, do you mean make the sensors face in the opposite direction that they came in? Or do you mean something else?

Okay, I'll try it, even though I'm a total dumbass and will probably screw something up.

definatly get the em usb2. It worked for me, even when my other adaptors didn't.

BTW, I bought a blueshark and posted here like a month or two ago, and I complained that I had no control box. So I bought a new one, and then MMB calls me, telling me what's going on. So they refunded my money for the extra control box, and the next my control box shows up.

Pads are kindof loud (Squeaks, not the normal taptaptap of the arcade)

and the bar feels unstable (it's not, I'm like 200 pounds and it still supports me during PSMO, lol) but that's my only qualm. It's nearly arcade perfect, except for those two things.

Mymybox is now offering the 3" version of the Blueshark arcade metal pad without the bar for $349.99, about the same price as the out of stock 2" version. Here is the link.

And so far, these are in stock! All this happens after I reserve my 2" version of Blueshark.

Thanks for that link. U can always "unreserve" right?

Btw the more inches or thickness it is, the better right?

Is it?

I thicker pad will hold the bar better and be less likely to crack, but it will also be heavier and inherently more expensive.

This did look like blatant advertising at first sight...

Seriously, if you're going to proclaim the superiority of a pad, put some stuff down other than "buy this!"

Kind of like Charlie with homebrew... (OOF)

Well, I emailed [email protected] and inquired what the difference between the 2" and the 3" version. Apparently, they are the same...

Here is their response:
Quote:
Due to the extended time in developing our new model 2" pad we have
made the
3" pad available without the bar until our new 2" pad comes out. Many
customers asked if we could offer this so we have made it an available
option for everyone. The only difference is the 3" pad without the bar
is
1" thicker than the 2" pad and it uses a slightly different control box
to
connect to the consol system. Also the holes for the bar will still
remain
so many customer wish to build their own bars for the 3" pad using the
same
holes.

So no improvements in sensors or anything else? Just a change in control box and an inch more in height? Is thicker better? I don't know.
