I missed the part where it says "in the US."
He just says it's coming out.
Duh, we've known that.
Or did I miss something? _________________

IIRC BZN was the test locale for the US version of Gold. That's what he was referencing.
Reenee or someone should be able to back me up on this. _________________

I wonder if I should be the killjoy...I talked to the Konami peeps at the SN2 loc-test, they didn't say 14/Gold would be released here. _________________

It's already out in Japan, so obviously he was referring to the US, the others drivel on about US release later on the page. |

Mmm, except they said something better (that actually makes more sense in terms of the timing of the releases of the games), but I'll leave Omega to bask the limelight for the meanwhile. He seems to try so hard, so why not? =) _________________

frick Omega. Spill it. :<
Though if you want us to do some wild fanboy speculation:
You said they didn't say Gold would be released here. Maybe that means they'll just go ahead and develop a US version of 15 alongside the Japanese release to avoid a situation where 14 is released here as they're announcing the next game in the series in Japan.

I think Omega jumps the gun FAR too much or gets misinformed (he's only what, 15 after all). It's not the first time he's done that anyway. _________________

without a complete song overhaul, IIDX will fail so hard that-- oh wait... that already happened with a US home release. :-/ _________________

I hear people say beatmania did well in the US and I hear people say beatmania did horribly... but nobody cites any sources. |

i have never actually heard anyone say that the US beatmania release did anywhere remotely near "well."
but to put it bluntly, virtually every mainstream gaming magazine and website hated it because of its "ridiculously steep learning curve, and crappy music." and went on to say that people are just better off buying guitar hero. i never see copies of it in stores, and even when it was brand new, it was difficult to find since so few copies were shipped. i think the only game that sold fewer copies and tanked worse was ITG for ps2. but no, i do not have sales figures; i am only going on the observations made here in san diego and the fact that i own both of the mentioned games. when i bought each, they were the last, or one of the last copies available, and no store really carried either after the few initial release copies were sold. _________________

If I recall correctly, GI gave it an 8 out of 10, and they generally liked it (but they did mention the steep learning curve). _________________
