ANyways watch its a rumor that 4 soda cans can hold a ddr homebrew pad and hold a player doing Max300 SMMM on Light/Basic.

heh diet coke cans aren't that strong xD

but what about placing more cans under the pad? or doing an easier song with the 4 cans, like Battle Without Honor or Humanity? maybe one of those ideas might prove to be successful.

I am going to do a youtube video where I try to chug as much soda as I feel I can comfortably. Ive drank 4 cans of grape soda w/o problem, so getting 4 more cans wouldnt be as hard. I still have the 2 remaining cans, and I will use them for the 6th test. THey will be known as the veteran cans.

but i would say that maybe...hmmmm. a minimum of 5-6 cans on either side of the pad might hold it up but for heavy/expert, forget about it, nice attempt tho

Where did you get that rumour though? Most DDR players hit with 20 to 100 pounds of force with each step even on sensitive pads. A soda can is designed to collapse when empty.

However, FULL soda cans might work. Don't try it on carpet though.

Cool I wanted to make it as cheesy and stupid as possible.

I dont think that would work, because when I saw the crush cans I noticed that both looked nearly identically crushed, with it appearing like:

TO where they swayed at one side. Under closer inspection of the survivng cans I noticed they had uber-slight kinks to one direction as well. It was lateral and downward forces that killed it. Cylinders are the strongest shape for such applications when layed out on the Y axis.

But empty cans aren't cylinders, they're tubes. A cylinder is a solid.
