well, everyone else is saying reverse is so much harder cause they learned playing normal, and they're just not as use to reverse as you are. If you've ALWAYS played using reverse, then you probably do better that way. BUT, if you didn't, you might do better normally... That's all I have to say _________________

On Overhead, arrows scroll up. On Reverse, arrows scroll down.

Why reverse is hard for a lot of people:
A DDR machine is very specifically designed so that the arrows reach the perfect boxes at the eye-level of the assumed average player (which, when designing the cabinet, they expected to be lots of Asian guys at the 40th percentile), or about 5' 4". Of course, what happened was that DDR players turned out to be a lot taller than Konami expected, so that the arrows wound up around chin level. Of course, it's not much of a problem for most people, but this also meant that the bottom of the screen was about waist to crotch level. While most people can adapt to looking at waist level, it's much less comfortable than having the screen at eye level.
More reasons:
A lot of people will start DDR and immediately take interest in oni mode. In oni mode, you can't put it on reverse, so a lot of players will play more normal scroll because they want to be able to achieve the goal of oni mode. Most people don't find out until extra stage until after they've burned the goal of oni mode into their brains. I can play just fine either way, but only have a handful of good Extra Stage scores. _________________

It just depends what you're used to. I wouldn't say either is harder than the other... I find reverse just a bit harder, but that's because I've been playing normal scroll for the past four years. Also, if you only play reverse scroll and can't do normal very well, you might run into problems when reverse is not an option (like on Oni, as Charlie mentioned... or in arcades, can you change the options in arcades? I only play at home). Charlie makes some really good points too.
One more thing. Excuse me for not knowing, but as I've said I don't play in arcades (and I only own the UM's).... What is FELMO??? |

FELMO is a boss song on DDR SuperNOVA. It's about as hard as Pandy.
And yes, you can change things up at the arcade. Hold the green selection button down and you get mods. _________________

You are retarded. Pandy and FELMO are NOTHING alike... it's like comparing fucking Chaos and Do U Love Me. |
