Drunk ladies with excessively high-pitched squeaky voices trying to push my friend off the pad because he was doing better than her.
Of course he's going to do better than you!
1. You've been playing for two songs - he's been playing for three years.
2. You're drunk - we're not even of age to drink, and in a public place...so we're not drunk either.
3. Your voice is annoying. But while that doesn't really affect your DDR skills, I'm just putting that out there.
4. We were trying to teach you how to play since you asked us to. It's not nice to shove your teachers. _________________

Another thing that annoys me is when I constantly get told not to stomp, and when I say I am not, I get lectured, and then bible quotes get thrown at me. I am not stomping, I have a size 13 1/2 foot, flat footing, and what not. If I was stomping, the whole pad would be busted. |

Yeah, I have pretty much the same problem. I have big feet (size 12), I flat foot, and the shoes I wear make a lot of noise. But I haven't gotten bible quotes thrown at me, though one time a person who worked at the arcade called me a fuckface. Is your arcade operator like super Christian or something? |

-When people take 10 minutes to select a song, when I'm clearly waiting.
-See above + if they're doing it on beginner.
-When people shake their head to the music while it's playing the sample.
-When somebody talks to another person while they're selecting their song, knowing that I'm waiting because they looked back about a minute before that.
-People that have the cursor on a 10-footer like Max 300, shaking their head in the "no" manner basically saying "I don't know if I can do this", making it very dramatic.
-When somebody skips me in line. This situtation usually happens if the place is packed, and there's 10+ people watching people play DDR.
-When people choose songs like "Honey Punch", or some other Japanese "happy", "corny" pop song.
-When people DON'T pick songs like Matsuri Japan, Tsugaru, etc. The over-hyped ones are the best! Why do you think they're over-hyped?!
The list can go on-and-on-and-on-and-on just like the Journey song. There's just some things that seem to be a fad when you're on a DDR machine. I hate how DDR is considered an "event" versus just a "game". Every time I play on it, there's always somebody watching me, which is why I go to my local arcade that has a SuperNOVA dedi-cab, but few people watch me there, so I can be "one with the game". That's one of the reasons why I've been into "buying the machine" - so that people don't watch me! I'm not into the social aspect of it, but I really like the game. |

Heres My List:
1. Someone stands way to close
2. Someone tries to take their money off the lil slip & puts the hand on the screen so you miss an arrow or 2...
3. Someone tries to get their crap @ the top of the machine & gets in your way...
4. If your playing by yourself & you have a high combo & someone jumps on the other side & tries to shaddow you... _________________

People who throw their crap all over the machine like its theirs and just leave it there. I don't care if you set some crap from your pockets on the machine while you're playing, but leaving it there after your songs are up? Please, throw it back in your pocket and leave the machine nice and neat--in fact, just bring a backpack and keep your crap in that.
People who take their sweet time at the machine. Once again, I don't mind if you take a minute on the song wheel to catch your breath before the next song. But when the arcade owner has been nice enough to turn off the timer, don't take advantage of it. Don't get on your cell phone while standing on the pads and have a 5 minute phone call. Don't talk to your friend about that movie you saw the other night. I'm sure that it can wait until after your time is up.
People who refuse to be social. There's no point to the arcade if its not a social outing--talk to people and be friendly in general. If you're with a a group of people and someone comes in by themself to play, greet them and start talking to them. Nothing sucks worse than going into an arcade where noone will talk to you and you have to wait by yourself for 12-15 minutes to get on the machine. I admit that I don't always talk to people as they come in, but I try to be social.
People who play songs that are obviously too hard for them OVER AND OVER AGAIN. I can understand doing it once or twice, but playing it everytime you go up and failing ten seconds in is just stupid, you're wasting your token and making yourself look like a moron in the process.
People who think they're cool because they can play on heavy. Do you know what, there's thousands of people who can get an A on just about every heavy song. You don't have to prove yourself to every 8 year girl playing Butterfly. Ok, it can be fun to show off, but at least do it without looking like an egotistical jerk. Remember, you've probably wasted a couple hundred more hours of your life on aarow-smash than anyone on beginner/light. If they're worse than you, they probably just have more of a real life.
People who are jerks and expect everyone to understand arcade etiquette . If someone doesn't understand the coin line, explain it. If someone is new, help them out. Really, just be nice people.
Also, as far as coin lines go (because lines of any sort usually end up being a pain with more than 2-3 people), I wish they could add something in with the e-amuse functionality for a line feature. You swipe your card/input a pin number to be put into the line. You have one minute after the people before you are done to confirm your place in line and take the machine. For people without e-amuse cards, they could just have them insert a "password" of sorts. Obviously this could be easily toggled on and off by an employee as it could cause problems in some circumstaces. Could also be a neat alternative to the coin line.

Lol on the other side of the arcade (behind and to the left of the ddr machine)
there are two air hockey things.
So I'm playing Abyss, and then all of a sudden the air hockey puck goes flying, hits the speaker (thank god its not broken) and lands right under my foot (while I'm playing).
...I slipped and fell and almost broke my head open.
It wasn't that bad, but it still sucked. |

How hard must a person be hitting the puck to make it fly across the arcade and hit the ddr machine? It must've flew at least 15-20ft. |

I'm pleased to say that I have never witnessed this. Where do you play? Is there like a machine in the mens room? _________________

My friends do it all the time, they have an extreme machine. Dunno about him though.
I don't get annoyed by much, but when people ask me to play a song just so I can fail it, its discouraging. But then again, it's awesome when I pass it.
Once, this girl was playing on xepher normal/heavy I forget, and she left to get more tokens. I play, pass xepher oni with a B for the first time, and then my mom shows up and says I have to go. I'm wiped already, but I've got one song left, so I picked Sakura Heavy. For some reason I failed right as the same girl walked back to the machine, and she laughed when I got off.
The only time I've been pissed off while playing DDR |

Failing Sakura is one of the most embarassing thing that can happen to you. And it happens to me all the time when I get tired. But only if people are watching. =/ _________________

God I know. I have no clue why I played so badly though...
But that was last summer. Now I'm working on passing PSMO...
Gotta get it down before I hit the arcade in a couple of weeks. |
