I looked through all the stuff on the CF forums and I worry that my order could take until August or September to get here. It's driving me insane waiting. Who has gotten a pad in the past few days and when did they order it? (The poster who mentioned the USB CBox got his on the 3rd, he'd be a good example). |

I ordered mine on June the 5th, and it still says "being built". I sent cobalt flux an email, and they said they were waiting on a part to arrive... I'm so sick of waiting. |

Hey i see that there are used cobalt fluxes being sold on ebay. they would cost a lot less( $60-$100) to purchase than a new pad, but does anyone know if you think buy used? can they still work after being used, for example, three years? does anyone have experience buying a CF pad on ebay? i really want a cobalt flux but i don't want to get ripped off and regret getting a used pad. |

I'd try the marketplace here, not ebay, but yes, a Cobalt Flux can work very well for many, many years. _________________

Bought mine in January of 2003. It still works, although it's had a year of non-use since I've been out of the States. I did have to mod it a bit with electrical tape and some other basic crap, but no soldering/etc. The pad was used every day HEAVILY for a couple of years, and then once a week for a DDR club at my university for a year.
And honestly, DDR pads on ebay have a bad rep. CFs less than most. I would trust people on the Marketplace. There is one person there selling a CF, as far as I can tell. |

Ordering from Cobalt Flux was one of the biggest mistakes I've made in my DDR/ITG career. It took them 2 months to finish my pad, and when they sent it, it was defective. I contacted them and they refused to refund me, but they'd repair my pad. Seemed fair enough so I sent the pad back and they supposedly fixed it. The pad came back, in worse shape than when I sent it to get repaired. None of the arrows were responding at this point, and I called them again. They shipped me a new pad. The new pad came and was defective. I gave up. I feel badly for anyone who has made the mistake of purchasing a Cobalt Flux dance pad. _________________

I can't be patient when my birthday party will be Fluxless and I won't receive my birthday present until months after my birthday.

You're the only person I've ever heard of having such a problem with CF. What was defective about it? You know about the sheet metal bowing, right? |

You're an idiot.
Anyhow, to answer your question, Agent 24, yes I know about the bowing. I've adjusted, unscrewed, tugged, sent it back and forth, and it's still a horrible pad. As for me being the only one with this problem, ask CWK, he has the same problem. Waiting on a MyMyBox Blueshark..played on one of them at my friend's house and it was probably the best home pad I've ever played on. _________________

I knew you were joking, and from what I've seen, you're not an idiot, but rather one of the best and most helpful posters on here. I'm actually considering buying a Flux on eBay before mine gets here, because I planned on getting another eventually for doubles anyway. |

That might be a better bet than ebay
How much time have you got before the party?
'cause ebay will probably ship faster, but you'll probably wind up paying way too much for shipping.
If you've got 3 or 4 weeks, check out the one (or maybe more) in the marketplace. A used Cobalt Flux can often be an even better bet than a new one, 'cause it's tried and tested.
Here's the CF I saw. Not much info to go off of there, but I think it's in your area-ish.
This guy is selling a CF for $215, as well as a replica he made (it looks identical) for $140ish.
Another one It has velcro!
More expensive one, but if that's what you're into, that's cool.
Just proving that I'm not all jokes and gags. Hope this helped! _________________

You could've made that super-helpful post a month earlier ;_; I would've snagged the velcro one (I live near the guy selling it) instead of buying a new one. _________________

Ohhh. I'm dumb. I thought "Marketplace" referred to some website, not an actual board here. Dangit. _________________

One of those is unreplied and 100 more than the others. One has a reply from along time ago that wasn't replied back to, leading me to believe the user won't be back. One sold on eBay already. The only one that might be a good lead appears to have an interested buyer involved already. Thanks for trying, though. I'll check at some other forums as well. |
