It's a very interesting subject. who knows who manufactures the pads used in PE classes but whoever they are they're making a quiet killing on this I'm sure. Schools usually buy at least one set of Two high quality metal pads, a TV, a PS2 and usually DDR supernova. On top of that they buy many faux pads that don't connect to anything but that allow kids to shadow the people playing. Next year my school will be offering DDR in the General PE corruiculum (not weight training or sports) and I am being allowed to demonstrate for the classes. I expect mixed reactions.
Who else here is getting DDR at their high school? That is if you're even in high school anymore. Do you know of any high schools around that are getting ddr? Any other thoughts? Share them please. |

Cobalt Flux has a big package that gyms and schools can buy.
I don't know if it's any good, but it's there. _________________

In eighth grade my school had an ITGPS2 unit in Phy. Ed. That's actually how I got into ITG in the first place. _________________

DDR in gym=not logical.
why you ask? well, DDR is pretty expensive. 2 metal pads, a PS2, a game, and a TV probably costs well over $1000, wouldn't it make more sense just to keep kids entertained with a buncha balls? plus, assuming the class has around 30 kids, 2 kids would get to go maybe once during class and kids who play DDR prolly dont feel like shadowing begginner. for us DDR fans, i know it'd be cool, but its really not a good idea.
i think DDR might be a good thing for gym teachers to tell there kids about, but its definitely not something schools should buy. _________________

I second that motion!
My school is ran by a fascist methinks, and where the ASB charges extra for soda pop, and gives all money to sports!
No DDR here. My band teacher supports it though.
I ask for a teen center: "Nope, no room. -duuh-"
We have 4 special ed kids in our school, each one has their own classroom! _________________

Actually, if any students were to be put into small cages, it would probably be them. I say go for it. |
