How hard is it to fix the Bluesharks? For example, sensors, panels, etc. I'm strongly considering buying one soon, but worry about getting owned if something goes wrong.

I just got my blueshark GXG(the 3" one) delivered, but have some problems.

First of all they shipped it with a PS2 control box not an XBOX control box, even though I asked for the xbox one. I can't really test it because of this as I do not have a PS2... Anyone have any suggestions on what can be done?

The 2nd problem I have is the pads squeak a lot, and the do not press in as easily as I thought they should. Can someone describe how the pads are suppose to act when being pressed?

I emailed them, and they said despite the option on the ordering page, they only ship pads with PS2 control boxes. You can buy the X-Box control box separately, but they are currently sold out. You might want to consider this adapter as it has X-Box, PC and GC outputs with no lag (at least in my experience). Plus, it's only $16 with shipping.

I called them up for XBOX 360 control box for blueshark metal pad.

They told me that they will get xbox 360 control box in 3-4 weeks.

If you ordered xbox control box with blueshark metal pad, you can leave a message to them by using thier forum site.

http://www.mymybox.net/forums/

or

http://www.mymybox.net/support/

Ask about receiving the wrong control box, They will fix the problem.

We received xbox control box before instead of ps2 control box and pc adapter. They fix the problem in 4 days.

my pad also has some squeak sounds, but the pad works great.

It looks as if, according to the link, the company itself knows jack about the product.

I recently got myself a Blueshark, but have been having a strange problem o.O

Whenever I step on the bottom left panel (just a piece of wood under the metal, has no sensor it seem o.O, it registers as the down arrow. This is obviously very annoying >_< Anyone had this problem or heard of it? Any way to fix it?

Thanks!

It would either be a wiring problem (wires are missoldered, crossed, or something else), or a control box problem (control box recognizes wires incorrectly, soldering in control box is wrong). You could open your control box and see if the soldering is correct (it's probably marked by button inside). However, if it's a problem with the wiring in your BlueShark, you will have to lift up every panel (including nonstep ones) and examine the wiring. This may require that your rip up foam that is glued down. Either way, if you got your Blue Shark recently, it's under warranty, so you should give them either an email or a call, and they will probably send you a new control box to try. If that doesn't work either, they'll send you a label to print off and bring to a post office to send the mat back so they can fix/replace it.

And the reason you see nothing on the steps is because the BS has arcade sensors. It doesn't need aluminum tape on the arrows because it doesn't use a circuit board, it uses the arcade sensors, which are pressure activated. If you look under the arrows, the sensors are on the right and left side of each step and are activated when pressed down.

EDIT: Wait, bottom left?

lol, I don't know how I missed that. Well, if it's doing that the sensors must be too close to the edge or something. Lift up all the arrows and look at the sensor's positions.

It looks like they're also releasing a new Nexen and PIU mat. I was interested in the PIU mat but a user said they played two songs on it and then it broke, and the Nexen is apparent from appearance and confirmed by gossip to suck. I don't know if they will ever really improve them. Maybe if MyMyBox made a pad that was built like a tank and used metal plates as contacts they could pick up even more business from people who would normally have purchased a CF (they've already taken some of it with the Blue Shark, but there is a different audience that would prefer a CF (ie me, who would prefer a springier, less thick pad to a thick immobile arcade style one (if I used a Blue Shark in my basement I would hit my head on the ceiling)))

At first I thought the same thing, but once I opened it, the two panels do not even touch O_________o I am so endlessly baffled, starting to wonder if there really is some sensor under the wood..

For reference, here is a picture of the bottom left panel and the down arrow panel: http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v486/TS28/?action=view&current=0706072012.jpg

There's no way to tell without looking at it, but I would think maybe there's an exposed wire under the wood that is being activated by something (maybe some part of metal) under the wood. Like I said, you'd need to send an email or call MyMyBox. They ought to be able to troubleshoot and if nothing else, fix or replace the mat.

Problem fixed! Ended up that the sensor seemed to be a bit out of place. Either that or the piece of wood I moved slightly fixed it. Just fyi for anyone else with the problem E1.gif

Well...since I'm bored, I'll use this time to give a seven-month update on my Blueshark.

Works perfectly still, though bar is sorta wobbly, it hasn't gotten worse since I first got it. So all in all, no problems. Hooray. Off to beat Delirium, which I keep on sucking at.

Apparently, they are releasing 2 new versions of the Blue Shark. A new 2-Inch with better corner and side panel supports, and a new model that uses Microswitches instead of arcade sensors.

Also, in three weeks, they'll have X-Box 360 support on all pads.
