just wondering, will konami make DDR for the PS3? i dont know cuz the ps3 is for the better graphic games and whatnot, but DDR umm not so much? maybe someone has connections and knows some low down info that can share about any collaborations?
I know DDR Supernova2 is coming out soon, pretty sure thats for the ps2 though.

if there is gonna be DDR for the PS3, it better have a ton of songs, cuz those discs can store a lot! plus i will definitely get a PS3 just for DDR

I'm fairly certain that a Blu-Ray disc could hold every song from every official Konami DDR/Dancing Stage mix, and all the ITG songs to boot, and still have a surplus of room. I mean, there's a hacked ITG disc out there with DDR 1-8th mix AC and I think ITG2, and that's just a single layer DVD.

Of course, I highly doubt Konami is going to release a comprehensive PS3 mix anytime soon.

It's likely they will, but probably not until PS2 falls into obscurity, since PS2 supports DDR just fine.

It will if Konami stops producing DDR one day and releases "DDR: FINAL MIX" for $80 or something.

DDR on the PS3 would be good because of the amount of songs that they could put in. The only downfall is, they probably wouldn't put in as many songs as they could. Graphics aren't that important when it comes to DDR, it's mostly frame rate that matters, since lower frame rates make it harder to time. Another downfall is that it would be for the PS3, so you couldn't use your old PS2 pad on it (no CF compatibility D: ), and the PS3 itself is 599 US DOLLARS, and not all of us have that many US DOLLARS to spare.

I personally don't believe that DDR is coming to the PS3. It's gonna be so hard for Konami to continue with Sony when such few people have the money for a PS3, and many concentrate on FPS's with uber graphics and whatnot. DDR should come to the Wii, 'nuff said.

Well, I'm talking more along the lines of the traditional games we got for the PS2. MAX2, SuperNOVA, and the like. Not spin offs like Ultramix and Mario Mix.

How in any way, shape, or form, was the Ultramix series a spinoff? It was for the Xbox, but it was still DDR.

StepMania.

Actually, I only have about 90% of the official charts on my StepMania, but I know people with every chart, and I'm working on compiling separate folders for each individual mix containing the theme and every individual song on that mix, although my 60GB hard drive might stop me there. frown.gif

Ah, so games only count if Konami made them.
Sorry, I didn't know that.

Stepmania with every ddr song isn't a ddr game. A hacked itg machine with every ddr song isn't a ddr game. I didn't say every song would never be together, i just meant that konami can never release a ddr game with every song.

New announcer, no arcade release, modes not available in any other mix? I don't know. I think it's a spinoff, but whatever.

1. Install Linux on PS3
2. Install Stepmaina on Linux that has been installed on PS3
I'm gonna stop here, you know what comes next

If anything Konami is going to continue the series on the Wii or 360. The PS3 just plain isnt doing well.

3. Realize that PS3 Linux doesn't give you access to 3D acceleration, so you can't run StepMania?

I'm sure the PS3 is doing way better than the Xbox 360 in Japan. So they would most likely make a DDR game for PS3 and Xbox 360.

Most likely outcome for DDR on PS3: a few more songs than PS2 mixes (around 100 or so) with the rest of the space on the disc used for insanely high quality background videos.

Question: Are PS3 games Blu-Ray only, or can they be on DVD (like how there are some CD-ROM games for PS2, even though most are on DVD)?
