|
|
Hi All,
My fiance and I are getting married and we are both "DDR Freaks"! We love to play it and are pretty good at it.
We wanted to incorporate it into our wedding reception somehow. Maybe have people get an 'A' on any song and then we'll kiss (instead of the annoying glass clinking). Or somehow make it as entertainment during dinner...maybe every 30 min. have someone try it in front of everyone?
I'm just looking for ideas and to see what everyone thinks! What is a good and fun way to have it in our reception? If we do it during dinner, how is that gonna interfere with the usual dinner music that's played as background music? And how can we utilize our DJ to help incoporate it?
Thanks! |

Are you, by chance, getting married to Dave Brit? Or is his last name Britten? I forget. No ideas really but make sure to play the song Happy Wedding. _________________

Heh, no, I'm not marrying anyone named Dave.
Yeah, I know that Happy Wedding song but it's not fast enough for us...plus that song is only alright. We find the faster songs are easier to play. Any other suggestions? |

Everyone knows the best song for a wedding is "I'll Make Love To You". Or "I Do I Do I Do"
You should have the video posted on here & on Youtube! |

My advice would be don't do it. As much as you love DDR, 90% of the people at your reception are going to think it's inappropriate, and another 5% are going to be totally confused and clueless. And besides, who wants to get soaked in sweat at wedding wearing a tuxedo? _________________

screw those stuffy heads, this is the OPs time to shine. They can do whatever the hell they want. This is a situation where it's their gig, they get to CHOOSE what is appropriate. The guests don't like it, they can leave. _________________

Most of our friends and family play or know of DDR and love it...therefore we don't think people will not like it. It's better than having to sit through a boring dinner trying to make small talk with people... =P
Thanks for all the song suggestions...we'll have to see and pick one for our "first DDR dance"... |

Seriously, and honestly:
This is very corny. Hokey. Cheesy.
You can do much better. _________________

I agree that it is a little corny and might not be something everyone at the wedding will be interested in (no offense) but it has been done... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQdC_wjSZpM
EDIT: Oh and apparently there is a little thing to freak you out at the end. Oh well |

That was actually cute... but it didn't look like it was actually part of the reception. It looked more like something they were doing during some down time after everyone had gone home. _________________
