|
|
well i have a soft mat from gamestop (http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?product%5Fid=801817) and a relatively thick carpet. i can tell for a fact that the timing is off because of the carpet since some people said when they came over. also, it used to be upstairs (but not anymore since it shakes the whole house) and the timing was better. also also, when i play at the arcade i fail miserably since im used to the off timing >_<
yeah, so i put a thick blanket under the mat. i dont know if that helped or not (it may have made it worse). i have also heard that putting those plastic rolly chair things helps. any other suggestions? im not sure how the timing is affected, but i think it was later since the carpet absorbed it. i dunno.
any suggestions on what i should do? im not sure if the blanket helped. also, does anyone else have this problem?
thanks |

if your upstairs is harder carpet or wood, then you will need a hard surface under your mat downstairs.
i had the same problem, because the carpet in my room was too thick, but my softpad worked great in the living room.
here is a post i made a while back about how i modded it and some pictures.
now it really feels like im on a wood floor, and i can slide easily on the vynal. it only took me about 3 hours but it was my first time doing something like this. |

but... is there a cheaper and faster alternative? xD
do i have to do all that? do you think...maybe a piece of cardboard would work? or those plasticky things for the rolly chairs? |

id say find an old piece of plywood, and duct tape your mat to it |

Use 3/8" plywood.
It's, like $12. Seriously. _________________

Okay. Well, here's hoping it will work.
3 HOURS?!?!
It took three hours to fully assemble the base of my DT600 prototype! (after I started using the Sabersaw) D: _________________
