How do I stop a soft/hard pad from slipping without modding?

I'm reposting this because it has little to do with the specific model of the pad, it could apply to any foam pad, hence it doesn't belong in the specific thread just for the specific pad. I don't want to mod this pad (hard-foam) with wood or composite board or anything, so with that in mind, how do you stop a hard foam pad from slipping on a hard wood floor?

if you go to the hardware section of lowes, you can probably find some "non-slip" things that people stick under furniture. but look carefully, because most of that stuff is to make stuff easier to slide

Well, duct tape and other types of "adhesives" are out of the question because I need to put the pad up against the wall when I'm not using it, I won't have it in the location permanently and I don't want to fasten it to the ground with tape each time I play. The anti-furniture sliding suggestion is a good one, though, I'll look into that! Any more?

For hardwood floors, the "non-slip" bottom should work fine.

For tile floors, I'd attach thin rubber strips along the bottom of the pad.

For concrete floors, you'd have to ask someone else.

For carpet, us industrial grade velcro. Don't get the kind with fine hooks though; that won't attach to the carpet at all.

The risk with not modding it is that the bottom will most definitely tear.

Hm. . . I actually wouldn't know for sure, but you could probably find some at Lowe's or Home Depot. Perhaps a hobby shop? I know my mom got some to keep the ~80 futon mattress from slipping off the frame, and my friend uses it to keep his Cobalt Flux in one place, but I never asked where they got it. Sorry I can't be of more help there. xP

Lowes and home depot do indeed carry "industrial strength velcro". The trick is finding it since it doesnt really fit in anywhere particular... it'll probably be randomly stuck at the end of an aisle. It's pretty expensive... probably about $12 bucks for a small package.

That said, im not sure this is the stuff you want... it does have very fine hooks and playing around with a piece i have here, it just barely sticks to my carpet when i really grind it in there. I'd suspect this is a very carpet-specific solution

That's good to know. Any particular reason you have industrial strength velcro just lying around? xD

Do you know of any velcro stuff that might have larger hooks of acceptable strength?

I just realised that one thing you could do is velcro the pad to a plywood board.

Is there any reason why that wouldn't work?

Doesn't seem like a lot of work to me. You can get a 3/8"x4'x4' plywood board at Lowes, grab some velcro on your way out, then stick some to the wood, and stick some to the pad, and you're good to go.

also velcro is a good idea but on hardwood it won't do you much good.

you know those semi sticky pads that they have for you to put on your dashboard

try getting like eight of those and putting them under it
