I wonder how some of ppl's reactions would be if we took away Speed Over Beethoven or Butterfly. _________________

Wait... people learned to stop being assholes when?
It was a joke obviously <_< my girlfriend would uppercut me into the sun if she saw I wrote that. This thread is just another pointless attentionwhoring thread so I though I'd poke some fun at it. Anyone who thinks girls can't play DDR as well as a guy has lost their mind... they just have better things to do than waste endless hours playing this game or they don't get into the childish competition that comes from this game or probably like 100 other reasons why an "awesome" girl player is rare. Its not because of any kind of physical inferiority. |

1.) Hes not an asshole
or
2.) Youre in the kitchen |

Or is NOT in some weird ass denial and knows that most women are not as physically capable as most men are. If yours was the case, then we wouldn't have separated leagues for basketball, golf, etc. _________________

I'm not going to argue your point, but rather your analogy. Women can't compete on an equal basis in the kinds of sports you mentioned because ability is to some extent a function of size and strength. If anything, large size and/or thick muscles would be more of a hindrance in DDR. _________________

Its a more skill based game rather than a physically based game. Some people have developed techniques that allow you to accurately hit arrows while exerting VERY little energy. I don't see why anyone couldn't do this with enough practice. |

So then, how come we aren't seeing more amazing skinny girl players? I agree, there's truth to be found in large size being a hindrance, and yeah the best players generally are naturally skinny people.
The best girl player I've actually seen is Chii from Colombia (she went to Buffalo to visit family and meeting her was pure coincidence)

And not to turn this into an e-penis match or anything but:
http://ddr.ddrecall.com/user.php?mode=compare&user1=me&user2=3327
That's comparing my recall with hers. Sure I'm not the best, but I'm definitely not the worst, that's for sure.
The way I see it, most girls view DDR as something to hop around on in their living rooms with a bunch of other chicks who don't know what they're doing. And this might sound a little... I can't think of the word, but most girls who WOULD play DDR seriously are either too fat and unmotivated to move or too insecure to play in public, and those who wouldn't take it seriously are the aforementioned demographic, who are also probably the types that think sweat ranks in the top 5 most disgusting things in the world. Sure there's exceptions, but honestly the best girl will never compare to the best guy in DDR. And I say this knowing that MAYBE one day I'll be wrong, but right now, I doubt it.
And this won't hold true for everyone, but most girls I've met don't have passions or obsessions for anything. They'd be perfectly content sitting at home watching MTV and listening to bitch rock all day. Their motivation to master anything and to achieve at something was very low if not completely absent.
I'm not trying to be a dick here but rather carry on a discussion, so don't take it that way. And to this:

You still need the energy to be able to practice it in the first place, and "VERY" is quite a stretch. Sure it may be a little bit of energy, but when you're stepping 800, 900, 1000 times or more in a span of only two minutes, it's still a LOT of energy. _________________

You could say the same thing about any arcade/videogame. Why don't we see more awesome girl Street Fighter players? Why don't you see more girls in Halo tournaments? I can't believe physicality has anything to do with it... so I'm inclined to think the same for DDR... that it's sociological. Gaming just isn't something girls tend to grow up caring enough about, and hanging out in arcades isn't something they tend to do. _________________

Yay intelligent arguement.
Well, try looking for a video of someone heel-toeing something retarded. Dukamok recent passing Moon Child's edit steps are the worst thing I can think of right now just because it was so retarded.(if someone could perfectly master this, i think it'd be possible to pass most files without becoming tired at all)
Best girl player though /hmm
Looking at groovestats and sorting by female... the first name to come up is Damien(lol.) and the second is... Amber i think? She's waaaay better than me just looking at random scores.

Painfully obvious XD
but yeah... I agree with... both of you i guess? Its more lack ofmotivation than the lack of being ABLE to. Can we agree on that at least? lol |

I think a combination of the physical inferiority and lack of motivation would make the most sense. _________________
