|
|
A friend of mine has been playing ddr for a while now and tells me that she will be getting a metal pad for b-day/christmas/some holiday. She asked me what kind of pad I would recommend. Now, I know that CF and Blueshark are pretty much the most reliable brand. But they seem more directed to the people wanting an arcade experience and something that can get them through 10+ footers/blocks. So I thought about recommending her a TX-1000 pad. Now I know that these pads wear out after alot of use, but keep in mind that she plays mostly light mode. And is only beginning to tackle standard mode.
Any recommendations? _________________

I wouldn't get a TX considering my friend has one and my modded soft pad outlasted it by 3 years with me both playing probably 5x as much as her and having a good 60lbs over her. Now that I think about it I remember she got it for her birthday and it broke at her birthday party. |

Yeah, if you reccomend a TX mat, only reccomend a TX-4000 or TX-6000, TX-2000 and Tx-1000 are pure garbage. _________________

dont get a metal pad? the BNS DX fusion and sparkles are great and mine can handle even 11 and 12 footers in ITG. _________________

Actually, TX-1000's wear out after a little use. Players who are hardcorerer than the average Joe would want a CF or a Blueshark. The Blueshark has the most arcade like feel, while the CF is most durable. Just make sure that if your friend gets the CF, it's a CF with an arcade mod. Just never doubt the CF's durability, because somewhere there is a video of some people running cars and SUV's over one and then playing Holic on it with no pad errors. _________________

true. But I think CFs suck. They're durable but they can suck. Bluesharks are really awesome, but unlike what people say, I don't think they feel much like the arcade. _________________

Hi all... new forum member here (and newbie player). Regarding the BNS pad... I'm also looking for a replacement for my old soft pad (rinky dink one someone gave me a while back) and am interested in buying it.
This may be a dumb question, but can it be played with shoes on? Does it stand up to wear and tear well?
Thanks! |

Why? She doesn't care much for the arcade.
I've also heard from many people that CFs are becoming unreliable. _________________

Shoes on any soft pad aren't a good idea, especially an Ignition.
Oh, and I will probably get my Cobalt Flux in a month or so. If she can wait that long, I'm definitely going to write a review to let you know how good/bad they are. |

Try to find a konami soft pad and mod it , should work just fine. I modded my pump pad with this tutorial here:
http://www.angelfire.com/pro2/softpadmod/#_Toc71480697
and I can pass hard crazy's like chimera and dignity just fine. _________________

The reason for that was because the company had a bad round of a certain part. Hopefully i'll get mine in the next week or two and i can tell you how it feels, but trust me, the bad round is over and they're doing MUCH better now. |

u arent gonna wanna play on the BNS with shoes unless you do some mod to the surface. it's still my favorite pad i've ever owned tho, and i used to own a flux(i just sold it because i realized i was fine with my BNS and liked not having to use adapters to hook it up to the PC). unless u need the arcade feel, the BNS is the perfect pad IMO. _________________
