Then why is it that the game mostly attracts nerds who cannot stand participating in physical/sport activities (such as myself) rather than athletes?

Thats a very valid point. I myself would fall into this category as well. Perhaps all of our technical experience has given us superior hand/eye coordination. We all have to do something physical, and our love for video games brought us where we are today. I can't tell ya how many times i've heard (for lack of a better word) jocks behind me, mocking me for playing DDR. It's an odd phenomenon

It's a Japanese game.

This is apparently why my sister won't play that much, so it's not that unbelievable.

QFT x 10000.

That is, until I got a (really freakin' expensive) sports bra that works.
They don't hurt when they bounce anymore, but they still throw off my balance mad-style.

I live in a community where all of the girls are preps and are completly non-athletic. The only reason that I see a girl play DDR is because they think they can act sexy for their boyfriends on the DDR machine.

I absolutly hate those who do that because usually we play where their are children everywhere. Besides that one reason for girls playing DDR I have never seen a really good girl DDR player in real life.

i guess because girls don't usually go to the arcade, and when they first try it out they think they suck (which all noobs suck at first) and they just forget about it because the played it once or they just didn't get in to it.
i like DDR, though, and i'm a girl. and in my school, there are a few more girls playing from the Supernova publicity.

I'm guessing most girls who play were inspired by their boyfriends (my girlfriend didn't start playing for real until she saw me playing). If there are any girls who started playing of their own volition and not because of anyone else's influence, please prove me wrong.

I'm pretty impressed with how quickly she's been improving. Not as good as me yet, (she can do most 6s and a few 7s) but she's better than I was when I had been playing the same length of time. She's got a lot of energy. Even though she's a tad overweight (as I was when I started playing E15.gif ), she can go longer than me without needing a break for water or even a breather (I'm asthmatic, she's a smoker). I think the day will come soon when she surpasses my skill. She just needs to get her flexability up a bit (still has trouble with crossovers).

Wow, I love my girlfriend. I bet y'all are sick of hearing me talk about her. riiight.gif

I was single when I started playing DDR, and I started playing all on my own.

So, how did the story go? Just saw DDR in the arcade, and decided to have a go?
