A week ago, I decided that I probably wanted to get a Cobalt Flux. After thinking about it, I realized how expensive it was and how long it would probably take to get to me. I was on the Buy N Shop site and saw this one piece metal pad for a cheap price, and I don't know if it is any good. I have seen a few posts saying they are good but must be worn in from playing. It is less than half the price of a Cobalt Flux. Is this a good alternative?
Oh, and I know that people will probably say "save your money and get a Cobalt Flux," but I want to see if this is a good option because it is a very low price (and it is not an Ebay pad)
Here's the link to the pad:

EDIT:
For around the same price, MyMyBox offers a "MT6 Solomode" pad for around the same price. I doubt it is any good though, because the arrows will probably shatter and MyMyBox has bad customer service. It's another option, however...

Yeah, how about the BuyNShop one? A Nexen is 250, and it's pretty close to the cost of a Flux, so if I'm willing to spend 250 for a Nexen I might as well go all the way. A Blueshark is way out of my budget, and I'd like to avoid MyMyBox if possible. |

I just found a thread on the pad from a while back. From what I hear you have to really hit hard for the arrows to register (but once you break it in it is fine)
Just want some feedback on this pad if possible. I play a few catas and mostly 7-8 footers. I wish to expand soon into harder songs and perfect attack, etcetera. I've only been playing for 3 months and weigh 140 pounds, if that's helpful information. |

No-- I actually haven't heard of your problem with a Nexen, please share.
I am off to school now, and am confused on what to do. A Cobalt Flux is a lot of money, but if I have to resort to getting one I will save for it. Are there any good options besides getting one? I'm pretty much open to opinions as of now; I hear the first pad I posted above isn't shabby but there are some problems with it. |

The Pads are Ok, they do need to be broken in and then they will register better. I hated mine for a looong time, since it kept breaking and stuff, so i decided i was going to mod it and i did. I replaced the cheap foam they used with some weather strip, and replaced the cheap aluminum sensors with some sheet metal, along with some other things. But in the end , i couldnt be happeier with the mods, the pad is constructed for easy accessability so it allows the buyer to mod it like crazy. |

Alright, thanks for the heads up. I guess buying one and modding it with sheet metal would make the pad better. I might just save up more money and go with a Flux.
How is the TX-1501 (I believe the Ninja)
I've seen a good review on it, but generally I don't think I should get anything "TX." |

Even some of the better TX pads are hit or miss. The most reccomended are the 4000 and 6000. I hear that they are actually alright if you get a good one. I haven't heard a lot about the 1501/Ninja, so I can't tell you much about it. I'd most reccomend a CF or Blueshark. Bluesharks are good if you get a good one, but sometimes you will get a bad one, and when Bluesharks are bad, they are usually pretty damn bad. CF's were doing pretty bad themselves a little while ago, but upon hearing stuff from people who have gotten the very newest ones, I think that problem has ended. So get a CF with the arcade mod. _________________

Thanks a lot videoCWK, you've been very helpful in a lot of my posts and I'm pretty grateful. I should try to get CF due to my lack of electrical skills. If I can't get a Cobalt Flux, I'll probably get the BNS Metal Fusion and someday replace the sensors with sheet metal. If anyone else has other recommendations, you can post them, I'm still interested in hearing other opinions (I'm not getting a Blueshark for sure). Thanks for all the help guys. |

I also have this pad, and it is quite nice. You indeed do hve to break it in, that doesn't take TOO long. The thing is just really hard to keep clean, but when clean it is damn sexy. _________________
